Excellent board/cycle game too, he's a horse with the puck, it's real difficult to outmuscle him. Very strong kid.Yeah, MBN just makes too much sense. A big, fast shooter would be a perfect fit on that team.
The poster doesn’t appear to be discounting smaller players but making an argument about optimizing asset mix which is not unreasonable. He's 5'11". I guess you consider Suzy undersized.
Two very likely candidates for our early second rounder IMO.Justin Poirier kept scoreless two games in a row but he was super dangerous. Him and Boilard look very good. Mercer is just a friggin wall.
Their frames are very different - Thick Nick is thiccccHe's 5'11". I guess you consider Suzy undersized.
No doubt. If Demidov is gone by 5, then Lindstrom or Iginla, in that order.I don't understand how some people say Lindstrom's skating isn't great. His technique is a bit odd (stands too upright) but to me it sounds a lot like what people were saying about Leo Carlsson last summer, the concerns are unfounded. If he's available at 5 I hope Hughes runs to the stage to pick him.
It's the weight figures taken from the beginning of the season which worries folks, and then they look at his shift by shift vids, and he does look like a small player playing smaller than others. He is a shifty and creative player on the ice. I doubt he ever picks up enough muscle to become a more physical and aggressive kind of forward. Like Johnny Hockey essentially. He's 5'11". Projected to center the top line, 2nd PP unit!Helenius in against Great Britain, hockey historians take note!
Thanks!Between 24th and 27th. We'll know the exact position of the pick when the 2nd round is completed.
Suzuki IS undersized. You shouldn't have your top two centers both under 6'0". This is not your ball hockey league. He's 5'11". I guess you consider Suzy undersized.
Probably. Hughes said they won't draft (99.99 percent) a left D, but left the door open (pardon the pun) to taking a right D if he was the "BPA," which Leshunov by most accounts would be at 5.They'd just go Levshunov here I think
Surin will be taken before our 2nd pick, sadly.I think Surin and Freij will be available around 27. I'd make the selection, trade the other picks we have after it, if we must. Trading up is going to be expensive, and not worth it. Like getting Tinordi once more.
When talking about size, weight is as important as height. Is Crosby undersized? Was Bergeron undersized? Suzuki is definitely not undersized man c'mon.Suzuki IS undersized. You shouldn't have your top two centers both under 6'0". This is not your ball hockey league.
Yes, unfortunately, I have come to this realization as well. He'd be a good pick for us, regardless of where the consensus puts him after the pick.Surin will be taken before our 2nd pick, sadly.
I like David St. Louis as a scout. He made a top 16 mock draft, and has us taking Demidov. Yes, please!
Are you being purposely obtuse? Bergeron is 6’1” and Krejci is 6’0. Malkin is 6’3”, and Crosby is an all-time great. When talking about size, weight is as important as height. Is Crosby undersized? Was Bergeron undersized? Suzuki is definitely not undersized man c'mon.

Ya and crosby is the same size as Suzuki. I mean, how can you say he's small? He's 5'11 and weighs over 210 pounds. People freaking out over an inch lol, unrealAre you being purposely obtuse? Bergeron is 6’1” and Krejci is 6’0. Malkin is 6’3”, and Crosby is an all-time great.

Drafting for needs isn't a bad strategy. Dickinson isn't even the BPA at 5th. Our team needs more Iginla/Lindstrom type of players like right now.A top 6 forward is drafting for needs. Dickinson is a top 2D, potentially a #1D. That's higher value and better pick for us.
Go for Iginla and call it a day. Sennecke is fine toiFrom what I see in the team's prospect pools and depth chart, my guess for the first four:
SJ - Celebrini
Chicago - Levshunov
Anaheim - Demidov
Columbus - Lindstrom (maybe Silayev)
So I think we're most likely going to be picking between Iginla, Sennecke, or Catton at 5.

Eiserman’s issues stem from concerns around coachability. He seems to be pretty arrogant and defiant in the face of criticism. And that wouldn’t be such a big deal except there are holes in his game.
To me, he has the highest ceiling. His goal totals are insane. But if you draft him and he doesn’t listen to what needs to be done? It’s a problem. I can see why he’s sliding.
Still would love to have him. Still think he’d work out here. But I’m perfectly fine with us going in a different direction. We can get sizzle from Demidov, Size and oughness from Lidstrom… lots of different options here.
Eiserman seems to be sliding. I like the idea of trading the Jets pick this year and Flames next year for Sharks second 1st round pick. I’d even throw in our first next year if it guaranteed we got Eiserman.
We have an abundance of prospects now. I’d rather we get higher quality. If we could somehow walk out of this draft with Lidstrom and Eiserman… I think we’re set.
