Well, Grant has Sennecke in his top 10 now and according to the scouts he's talked too they have him ahead of Catton now. I guess he's the real late riser right now. Said he will be in consideration especially if Iginla is gone by our pick.

I mean I've been on the I love Sennecke train all year, but I wouldn't take him top 10. That sounds a little too high. I'd take him before Greentree, though.

Any word if Lindstrom and/or Catton will be on the Canadian team at the U18's at the end of April? I would assume so for Catton, and hopefully Lindstrom is healthy.

It's a foregone conclusion if they are healthy that they will be playing and I wouldn't be surprised if Catton centered Lindstrom.

Yeah seems rich for him but I guess he has had a great 2nd half. Would go hand in hand with what Hughes said that his scouts were more optimistic about the draft since some players were starting to break out later in the season.

I would think there is no world where we take Sennecke if Demidov, Lindstrom or Iginla are there. After that...well that is when I think it really opens up for us at forward. I don't think it's crazy if they like Sennecke's NHL projection more than Eiserman, Helenius and Catton.

8 goals in 6 playoffs game is really impressive.

I think I'm hopping on the Iginla bandwagon, guys! He certainly is rising in my top 10.

So as of today we are sitting at 5...what do people have as a top 5 for the Habs? Who is the D man that you say "org needs be damned we have to take this guy if he's there at 5"?

Not sure if it's been mentioned here, but "Smaht Scouting" released their spring rankings yesterday and they're definitely a little spicy. Their top 10 is:

1.Celebrini
2.Demidov
3.Catton
4.Lindstrom
5.Buium
6.Greentree
7.Levshunov
8.Dickinson
9.Iginla
10.Artamonov

They have Parekh at 12, Eiserman at 13, Silayev at 16, Helenius at 17 and Yakemchuk at 20.

Dickinson for me. I'll admit I saw so much of him in the past few years I might have a bit of a natural bias, but he's a future long time 1st pairing pro Dman in my book. I see him becoming a Noah Dobson 25+ minutes a night type and those are real hard to pass on.

Interesting....certainly i would agree if he projects to be a Dobson type D-man then he would likely be the #1 d-man in our system and would have to garner strong consideration drafting around 5.

So again from a Habs pov, if you have the top 5 forwards as follows, where do you drop Dickinson into this mix? 4th? 5th?

1. Celebrini
2. Demidov
3. Lindstrom
4. Iginla
5. Catton

Gotta agree with WTK here. Even if Celebrini, Demidov, Lindstrom, and Catton are off the board I go with Iginla.

The only one would be Levshunov because of being a right shot defenseman, where you could have an insane right side with Reinbacher-Levshunov-Barron/Mailloux/Engstrom

But there's no chance Levshunov is falling out of the top 4.

I know, especially in the top 10. It’s been like a decade last time it happened.
The NFL has a much bigger talent pool to draft from, Players taken as low as the 4th round routinely start, even if not right away. Most NHL players were drafted in the first two rounds, and more importantly, if you look at the top 20 scorers most season, I would bet that most of them were drafted top 10 or at least top 15. Teams don't want to move back/down in the first round because of that.

And you also know that we're drafting a forward. There will be good options from 5-9. If we draft 2, we're taking Lindstrom, unless he totally busts at the U-18's.

They start because they are drafted at 20 years old +, not because of a wider pool.

I am not sold on Mailloux or Barron’s NHL potential. I think RHD will be debated internally if either Parekh or Levshunov are there

They don't start immediately (other than first rounders and some second rounders) and there is a wider pool. There are over 4000 colleges in the U.S.

Yep, spicy to say the least.

Get ready to see a massive rise for Iginla from the mid season rankings to now (end of season rankings). He should be in the Top 10 on most lists if he isn't already.

My early april Montreal biggie pick board, spend most of a day on this, that it:

1. Macklin Celebrini
2. Zayne Parekh
------
3. Sam Dickinson
4. Tij Iginla
5. Cayden Lindstrom
6. Berkly Catton
7. Konsta Helenius
8. Zeev Buium
who i like less than Buium so far: Demidov, Levshunov, Eiserman, Silayev.

The only reason Parekh ain't my 1st overall is i can't possibly put him above above Celebrini. Parekh while in his own world i see him develop a Brian Leetch (another dimensional alien) type of game and then excel in it.

For those who are more knowledgeable of Catton's game, is it fair to say he's along the lines of guys like Keller, Kane, and Kucherov? By that I mean, not be the biggest guy (under 6' and between 170 and 185 lbs) but is skilled enough to be a PPG player or higher.
