Ummmmm is anyone watching this Ivan Demidov kid? He might be better than Celebrini and Eiserman? I get the Russian factor but WOW!
Yeah Michkovs been more productive but I would not be surprised at all if Demidov becomes the better NHLer. Amazing toolkit
Agree on the top end talent. Also excited because the depth of right shot d-men fits in with organizational need. Perfect case IMO would be difference making winger with the Hawks 1st, and then 2 right shot dmen with the Lightning 1st and Hawks 2nd.The talent at the top of the '24 draft is looking really nice.
We should get another elite prospect to add to the mix.
Demidov is pretty special from what I read and is playing for SKA instead of michkov now — hockey politics aside if he is as good as michkov who was supposed to be on par with bedard potential wise, so I’m not sold on this yet.really glad we got #1 last year. there is a bigger gap between #1 and #2 in 2023 then #1 and #8 next year. IMO.
Agreed. Demidov has a much better motor. Kid isn't quite the talent as Michkov (few are) but he is damn talented in his own right. Plus his contract only runs through 2025 so when he gets drafted, a team will only have to wait 1 year then he can come over unlike Michkov.
Can either of you elaborate the difference from your point of view?Yeah Michkovs been more productive but I would not be surprised at all if Demidov becomes the better NHLer. Amazing toolkit
I see Chicago picking somewhere between 14-16 unless of course they luck out again in the draft lottery…
Looking at Central Division rosters and how they look right now I see them he Hawks maybe finishing the he same way they did back in 2007-08…3 pts back of 8th playoff spot(tied with two other teams)

You are either an absolute homer or absolutely clueless if you don't think this team isn't in the top 10 for the lottery.

Here's a good article in the athletic on the likely worst teams for next season. It has the Hawks at #2 on the list only behind San Jose. Now in my opinion, I don't think we'll be THAT bad (I think we'll be better than the Flyers for sure. Probably Montreal and potentially Anaheim as well) but we sure as hell won't be 14th-16th good even if 10-15 teams suffer injuries to half their players. I'll bet my house and your house on that.

I'll bet your house too...
No doubt we will be bottom 5 than it is up to lotto luck.
The goal tending is going to kill us and the defense won't be much better.
After reading that athletic article is have faith that Phili will finish higher than us. Getting Couturier back is huge for them and Atkinson is still a quality forward.
Anaheim will be better than us. New coach and all their young talent should take the next step. Same with Montreal.
I have us finishing #2 behind San Jose. But even that is not set in stone. Our goaltending is slightly worst but their D is worse. They still have Hertl, Couture, Duclair and Granlund. Maybe Zadina figures things out as a top 6 forward and Eklund takes a step as well.
I'm cheering for Bedard to get as many points as possible but I'm labeling this team as a dumpster fire with hope.
my only dilema is I want Soderblom to play ok hopefully he can be north of .900 But face 42 shots and let in 4 goals and EN and lose 5-3I'm hoping Bedard gets a ton of points but the Hawks lose lots of 7-6, 6-5, 5-4 games. Hopefully they'll be exciting to watch but I think we're looking at at least another year or two in the basement.
NH - couple of quick questions:I see Chicago picking somewhere between 14-16 unless of course they luck out again in the draft lottery…

Right now I see the central in three groupings
1.Colorado
2.Dallas
3.St.Louis
4.Winnipeg
5.Minnesota
6.7.8.Chicago Arizona Nashville
Not even looking at the Pacific Division as I think it’ll be even tighter there
Gotta hope for an 11th to 16th pick from TB, they need to miss the he playoffs this year
I’m hoping you he Hawks do well, looking for picks 12 and 15 overall in 2024
Maxim Masse and Adam Jiricek?

Worth noting Montreal had a ton of injury problems this past season they don’t finish as low with Caufield, Suzuki, and co being healthierYou are either an absolute homer or absolutely clueless if you don't think this team isn't in the top 10 for the lottery.
