If the Hawks don't take Levshunov, they'll be a special kinda dumb. They have no bluechip RDs, one is available at that position and taking any other player at that position is somewhat redundant considering their existing prospect pool. Plus, Levshunov is talented enough to be a 2nd overall pick.

Would love for them to pass on him though because screw Chicago
The Hawks are taking him 100 percent. The sens are very likely going to have a choice of Dickinson, Buium, Parehk and Yakemchuk. Great spot to be.

It’s a shame not a single intelligent question was asked to Don.

We need better reporters in Ottawa

Do you have the top 10?
1. Celebrini
2. Lev
3. Silayev
4. Lindstrom
5. Buium
6. Dickinson
7. Sennecke
8. Yakemchuk
9. Demidov
10. Catton

Pronman also notes he doesn’t see us choosing Silayev or Demidov if available to us.

Interesting and thanks for posting that.

I guess if Pronman was going off the past he would be correct about the Russians but SS indicated in his media availability that there is no Russian factor for the Sens.

Also interesting that he has the Habs going D and no Iginla in the top 10 and Demidov dropping to 9.

Yeah, or alternatively the Sens plan on getting an area scout for Russia going forward but haven’t yet. I can’t see them taking one of them if they haven’t scouted them much.

In his mock Iginla doesn’t go til 13 to the Wild.

I think Parekh personally is the last player I want mentioned in the top 10. He has the highest bust potential of any player. He gets no separation with his skating. That's #1 for any offensive d man to break out and create moving the puck up the ice. I find it very interesting how Yakemchuks defenisve game is questioned and Parehks is not. He is a horrible d zone defender. In general he doesn't look like he even thinks about it. Atleast Yakemchuk boxes out and protects the house really well. Will lay the lumber.

I didnt like Parehks body language at all at the memorial cup. Seems like an immature player.

Inside the blue line he is electric. I think he ends up being a pp specialist that coach's won't trust 5 on 5. Kinda like Ghostesbeher.

I'd be really happy if they take Iginla if it's a forward. His skating and shot are phenomenal. He goes to the dirty areas and frankly he just has it. The bigger the game the better he got. Can't teach that.
I also like the potential of Yakemchuk and nice to have a shooting threat from the point.

Catton hasn’t missed his projections since he was drafted to the WHL, and his stats are only behind Bedard at this stage in his development. He is a can’t miss prospect

I think the difference is that the strength of Yakemchuk's defensive game is a debate, whereas with Parekh people just acknowledge it's not good enough and the discussion is more around whether it will get better.

I'd be uneasy taking either at seven, but would take Parekh before Yakemchuk.
You can teach defence…and that goes with Parekh as well

I could see us trading down to 11 and getting 33OA and then packaging 33 and 39 if a player we love falls into the 20s.

If I want someone I normally get my wished and I think we'll take Buuin*

Will SS make a spectacular 1st pick?

*Cause he has a cool name - I don't have time to follow prospects
** Celebrini has also a cool name :)
***Best of luck to all

My top 10 order guess.
I don't see the Habs passing on Demidov if they keep the pick
I think the Flames are very familiar with Yakemchuk and pass on him

I think this is the top 5 and 6 -10 can go in any order. I would be happy with any of them.

Is it because you want someone you want around the 11th knowing no one in their right mind would pick him at 7???

I know you can't go back in time unless anyone on here has a flux capacitor they aren't using but we won 3 of our last 4 meaningless games of the season and are picking 7th instead of 5th overall. I know I am being a Wendy Whiner.

Would we really be the Sens if this didn't happen

Corrado with some Draft talk ; Good thoughts on drafting for immediate need vs taking who you ( your team) think is the best player available
Opinion on Parekh and will he be able to progress as a defender and his style.
Some on UFA RDs

Mendes and Don Boyd

Marek said he’s talked to sources says Buium is going third. That would be a reach according to Mckenzie’s list

means Silayev could drop. It would not surprise me if Buium came off the board early. I wonder if Utah would go with another Russian D this go around.

I dont think thats a reach at all he's the best D man in the draft. Might be the best player, he was arguably better than Celebrini in the frozen 4 and the WJC. There is no real reach after number 1 for the next 12 picks or so.

That would be Anaheim going BPA as they are absolutely loaded on LD. They have Mintnyukov, Zellweger and Fowler already. All kinda similar to Buium as well. I think it would be a little suprising only because thats probably the biggest organizational strength.

It’s 5 spots too early according to Mckenzie’s list. That at least may throw some plans into a bit of flux. I think Silayev def starts slipping at that point. Do we take a chance on him?

We have two guys that regularly give us good info saying that staios LOVES iginla. The boss usually gets his guy.
