In a scenario where Celebrini, Demidov, Levshunov, Silayev, Dickinson, and Lindstrom have all been selected ahead of Ottawa, who would you pick as GM?
  1. Buium
  2. Parekh
  3. Iginla
  4. Sennecke
  5. Catton
  6. Other
Easy answer... Steve Staios! :)

All kidding aside, that is a pretty solid ranking in my books. Of all the D's Buium first for sure if available. The one I struggle with most is the Iginla vs Sennecke... I love Iginla's skills, his play-making and shot in particular and can't ignore his DNA. Sounds like Sennecke may be even more well rounded and he sounds like a forward powerhouse. That one hurts my brain!

I can't recall a draft where so many players appear to be in flux after the 1st, perhaps 2nd picks. Other years it seems far more predictable as far out as 10-12. This year I expect there to be a crap load of jockeying, trading picks up and down as selections are made based on who remains available. This draft is definitely pop-corn and libation worthy, lots of drama, full entertainment value! Gonna be a good one!

Probably already here but... not bad from 11-14 .. and get a top 1/3 2nd

I wonder if Buffalo is looking at McGroarty with 14 now
Damn, every time that player's name comes up it triggers a mental image of Philly's mascot.

My gut tells me we draft Dickinson if available.

Head scout Boyd lives in London and likely has seen Dickinson play the most probably loves him.
I wonder what that means for Donovan LD & whether it might mean they plan to move Chabot at some future point, if they have Sanderson, Kleven, Dickinson & Donovan all on the left side. I also wonder if they make a move for Bonk RD in a Chychrun package.

Craig Button on his TSN mock draft drafted Parekh at number 7 for us.
I don't think we will draft Parekh at 7.
Could always look silly saying it but I hope we don’t draft him over the bigger stronger skilled players either.
Parekh is the kind of player I’d love for us to play against and destroy.
Comparing him to Erik Karlsson is a bit simplistic. EK65 could skate like the wind. To name one difference.

It's just a fluff piece to drive traffic to the site, doesn't really have any insignt on teams or a track record that says they are anything more than his educated guess.

He went 1/10 in his mock last year, with Bedard being the only one he mocked correctly in the top 10

I agree there was only one Erik Karlsson and the romantic fantasy that Parekh is EKii is just that....a fantasy.

I think Parekh personally is the last player I want mentioned in the top 10. He has the highest bust potential of any player. He gets no separation with his skating. That's #1 for any offensive d man to break out and create moving the puck up the ice. I find it very interesting how Yakemchuks defenisve game is questioned and Parehks is not. He is a horrible d zone defender. In general he doesn't look like he even thinks about it. Atleast Yakemchuk boxes out and protects the house really well. Will lay the lumber.

I didnt like Parehks body language at all at the memorial cup. Seems like an immature player.

Inside the blue line he is electric. I think he ends up being a pp specialist that coach's won't trust 5 on 5. Kinda like Ghostesbeher.

I'd be really happy if they take Iginla if it's a forward. His skating and shot are phenomenal. He goes to the dirty areas and frankly he just has it. The bigger the game the better he got. Can't teach that.
I like his puck skills and edges. Not the fastest player but he can be Fox like.

I guess if there's one thing that worries me about Iginla it's how fast he rose up the charts. The guy wasn't even projected to go in the first round last October. Or maybe that's a good thing.

Erik Karlsson, Jake Sanderson and Mike Zabineked were all late risers - usually works out for Ottawa
