I didn't claim he fixed them, I said he called them out, and it clearly didn't cause problems. Weird beef you have with Keith, not sure what's going on their but its not rational, so there's no point continuing, have fun with you Keith conspiracy fantasy.
You said he called out the Panthers and look at them now. That means he fixed them. Not the GM, players, Coach. Keith. He called them out and that was what was needed. Keep him on a pedestal if want. I'm cool with not continuing.

Your latching on to a point I made to show he certainly didn't harm them, and twisting it into he fixed them, but it's all nothing but you trying to change the focal point away from your origi al unsubstantiated claims.

No pedistal here, just not buying into your weird claim that he's somehow a problem.

The implication here seems to be Brady didn't deserve his contract, and yet every season he seems to be proving he's worth every dime, the guy has been our best player or damn close to it pretty much every season since Stone was traded.

Both players fought for contracts they were worth, the idea that Brady's contract negotiations are a negative against him has to be one of the more childish complaints. He missed 3 games but actually signed before we played our first game,

And yes, perspective is important, Alfredsson was asking for ~3 mil (his rumoured ask was 7 mil over two years so 3.5 but they settled at less I believe) at a time when total payroll and revenues were about a third of what it is today, team payroll in 98 was 25.4 mil. With that context in mind he was asking for a similar piece of the pie as Brady, arguably more. Both guys wanted to be recognized for the value they brought to the table and did, there's no shame in that.

Brady getting that contract is how we got Norris for 8 mill too. And now what is Pinto going to think he is worth? 6 ft 3 two way center that every team wants. 7.5-8 m?

And we honestly got lucky because if Stutzle or Sanderson used Brady as an example they would be pushing for 10 m contracts.

Ya this is all nonsense, they all got their contacts because they have agents that negotiate for them and use comparables across the league to land on a market value. Norris was pacing over 40 goals as a 22 yr center that was a responsible two way player, the idea that he got paid because of Tkachuk is pure fiction.

You think this didn’t have an effect?

and then we have Stutzle saying 8.3 m is a major discount.

without a doubt the money and contracts f***ed the mentality of this group.

the proof is in the results.

they got money based on not actually have proven anything. and for the majority of the time since those contracts were handed out.

this team plays like they have nothing to prove.

If the Sens go D with their 1st 2 picks .. (I would) .. there are some decent forwards that could be available with their 2nd round pick.

Cole Beaudoin and Yegor Surin are two. I really like what I have seen from Surin... This kid can play and he plays with a ton of jam.

I wonder if the Sens have scouted the Russian prospects.
Jim Clark was planning on having borscht and going with his gut. We'll never find out what he was going to do.

Hey mods can we get this topic back on track? Not stupid contracts but draft picks, thanks.

So many good D men I wish we had one more top 10 pick!

USHL usually is, and this year for sure should be, a focal point for the Sens.

8 of the top 11 scorers in the league are going to be drafted this year, with likely 4 of them going in the 1st.

All of Hage, Boisvert and Gridin should be guys they have high on their lists for the Sens 2nd and Boston 1st. Unlikely any make it to the 2nd, but Gridin may.

There are 3 very good overage picks that should be taken in the 4th-7th in Powell, Burnevik and Pahlsson, all fit the Sens MO and all bring pro elements in their game.

Connelly unfortunately the Sens likely have no shot, or would take it anyways. Some team in the mid first is going to get a top 3 player.

Swanson I can’t see the Sens being interested in.

The way he is playing in the playoffs. He may be out of reach if we pick 6 or 7. He is my favorite player in this draft class. I am not saying he is the best after Celibrini. I just love his overall package of size(I think he gets bigger)/skill/speed, blood lines, late season progression and age. Having a Tkachuk and an Iginla on the team and having Keith and Jarome walking around building would be pretty cool.
I have not seen him in the playoffs yet, so I cannot comment on that, but I do like him. I am not sure I would take him at 6th or 7th, but I would agree with you in being a big fan the combination of assets and skills he can provide.

Personally, the player I like most in the 2024 draft is Trevor Connelly, at least relative to other people. He won't go as high as his skills would suggest for off-ice reasons, but I think he is just as good as pretty much anyone in the draft.

Connelly sure looks like a hell of a player.

He seems like he's worked on putting previous stupid shit behind him but he needs to find an agent who knows how to rebuild an image. He needs to do something that shows he's a decent kid (if he indeed isn't a total POS).

Seeing as the Sens have 3 draft picks playing in the USHL i would assume they have scouts watching the USHL and looking for more possibilities

a mid to late 1st rounder I hope we can grab Kiviharju. He's small but can skate like a beast and would be a cool long term fit

I would sell you my house for $2 if the Sens use any draft pick to choose a 5’9 dman. I just don’t see it.

People want Kiviharju in the first!? How’s Aatu Raty doing these days?

Point is, the best players a year or two out from a draft, don’t always end up being the best the year of the draft.

didn't watch yesterday's game.

but this roster just looks flat without Stutzle, no sizzle.

We need Demidov badly but I think everyone is now realizing Demidov has a good chance to be better than Celebrini. Not sure he makes it past 3, 4 at the latest.
If we win #2 I definitely want Demidov, otherwise he's definitely being taken before our pick.

As far as high-end forward potential though, I think Catton and Tij Iginla could fit the bill, maybe even Helenius could too.

Now I'm hoping the Sens draft Iginla now that he's exploded in the playoffs. I like clutch players who produce the most in the playoffs. Kind of the anti- Alexei Yashin / Auston Matthews.

Well chances are we aren’t getting anything special at the end of the first.

From the sounds of it he's the big riser this year.

Habs have apparently interviewed him several times already. May have to finish below them to have a shot. Fits a need for them as a scoring forward. After reaching for Reinbacher last draft they are pretty stacked on young defensemen.

If the standings stay the same and we end up picking 7th, the Habs selecting Iginla before us would probably mean one of the top D (Silayev, Dickinson, Levshunov) is available, which would be pretty sweet too.
