I watched him a lot when watching lardis. I like him but I still don’t think he’s got the upside that others like chernyshov do and that’s my constant complaint is we just take guys that are high floor, mid ceiling guys.

so the hawks traded 20 OA+3 2nd rounders for 18 & 27 (picked 2 guys that would have been there at 20 & 34)...?
If Vanacker and Moore both hit that’s a hell of a foundation for a pain in the ass middle 6 line with a bit of scoring pop

I like Chernyshov but he's absolutely a floor pick, not a ceiling one.
He's Katchouk with consistency. Solid bottom 6 role player.
Van at least has some 2nd line upside.

I see Chernyshov with more offensive upside than that. His puck game is high end to me and I think he does a good job being deceptive offensively. Beats people.

I agree with the first part of this, but we have no idea if this guy would have been there at 34.
With that trade we’ve had eight 1sts the past three years, and two more next year.
I don’t think it’s overly fair to say that Boisvert and Vanacker would have been there at 20 and 34 respectively. Was there a chance? Sure, but GMs are also able to talk to guys around the league. They may well have gotten wind that someone liked Vanacker before 34 and decided to pull the trigger. Doesn’t really apply to Boisvert since that move was made awhile ago but you can’t definitively that they’d have been able to get those guys at 20 and 34 respectively
