I’m not a fan of every team getting a representative. Nobody wants to see Boone Jenner, with his 18 points on the season, compete in an All-Star Game, let alone a skills competition.

Barzal isn't a bad pick for the Isles, but I would have put Dobson over him if I had been given the choice.

I'm sure young Columbus Blue Jackets fans want to see a player from their team play.

Fair point about the young fans. But as someone who has coached young kids, I find that they are much more often fans of individual players than teams. My Philadelphia-area players are bigger fans of Jack Hughes and Connor Bedard than any Flyers player at the moment.

Going off my personal experience, but as a kid, the only reason I wanted to watch ASGs was to see my team's player in them.
Not to mention, superstar players like Hughes are going to make the ASG regardless of whether or not each team has a guy there.

Imo should have been Timmy Stu from the sens and not Tkachuk.
Tkachuk is worthy, but since they limited limited 1 per team and then who can get voted in, Stutzle should have been there.

Blows me away Barzal gets the nod over Dobson. He deserves to be there more than Barzal.
And Shesterkin? Really? Theres like 6 other Rangers that deserve to be there over him.

I understand the sentiment of the other guy though. As a kid growing up in the early 90s, was a die hard, cry when they lost Rangers fan, but my favorite player by FAR was Pavel Bure.

But, I as an adult, want to see the true all-stars not this garbage if I am to take the ASG seriously. I have 0 reasons to watch this as an adult. Each team being represented is nonsense. And I don't think kids care about this ASG nowadays anyway. Yea, some kid in Columbus cares about Boone Jenner, lol.

But the NHL obviously determined it's a better business decision to have a rep from each team there.
