Cowboys have the king of that strategy. Gutless Mike McCarthy.
Sorry for the delay I didn’t see the notification for some reason.

Cowboys are hot garbage and will never sniff another meaningful game as long as Jerry Jones and his inbred family own the team, don’t worry I’m well aware of that by now.

As for the Als well they shot themselves in the foot today, should have been an easy win without the stupid mistakes. And if they don’t give the team to Alexander next season they’re a bunch of incompetent clowns.

I have watched McCarthy blow at least a couple of championships for Green Bay with stupid conservative play calling at the end of the game. He will always run 3 times and punt when one pass for a first down ends the game.
And fans need to revolt if Alexander doesn't start next season. He can find a secondary receiver, throw on the run accurately (even to the other side of the field).

I feel you, not a fan of McCarthy either and didn't like the hire from the start but he was the perfect puppet for Jerry. His ego can't handle innovative head coaches with a backbone who want full control over their roster, he wants the spotlight for himself so we always end up with soft unimaginative yes men.

He'd rather keep losing his way than hire someone competent who would end up getting more credit than him like Jimmy Johnson in the 90's, he never got over it. Last real coach we had was Parcells almost 20 years ago and he left after a few seasons because he couldn't take working for a senile buffoon with a god complex who was constantly interfering with his decisions anymore.

But back to the Als... Yeah, super disappointed and without the 37 fumbles we probably win this game in spite of Fajardo's shitty performance. Defense couldn't stop them when it mattered, we need a disrupting Lemon-type guy on the D-line badly.

Alexander should have started that game imo but it was never going to happen so no point torturing myself over it I guess. What I know is they better give him some guarantees or he'll just leave next winter, teams will be all over him. We can't afford to end up without a legit QB for a decade like when Calvillo left. Fajardo is done, thanks for 2023 bud but Alexander is the present and the future. Do the right thing please, don't mess it up.

i would be happy to keep Fajardo as backup if he is willing to stay and put him in if Alexander falters.
That ship has sailed, they need to do what it appears every other team is capable of, forget retreads and bring in 2-3 young QB's to develop behind Alexander.

They did bring in Alexander and a few teams don't have any QB's CFL calibre. Is Fajardo still under contract?

I think we still need to bring a backup with experience if something happen wigh DA. I would like Jake Maier

Maier is terrible and they would be going nowhere if they had to start him for very long. For a few games until Alexander came back he might be useful.

Agreed, prefer testing out unknown young QB's in that situation instead of ones we already know are terrible.

I think he’s a fine 1B/backup, and better then most backup

Can’t go with a backup without experience if something happen. Maier is not a good option for a #1 QB, but he can make the job for a couple of game of DA is injured

Sonny Wade won 3 Grey Cup MVPs. Nobody dominated clutch games like him. Especially the '77 Grey Cup. That was best Al's team ever.
No doubt. He was before my time. Calvillo also 3 grey cups and 79k yards vs wade’s 35k. Subjective I guess. Both great Als
