Vegas says otherwise…our odds of winning the World Series (at least before today) were lower than any of the other teams left in the playoffs including the Royals lol
The odds for winning the World Series is not based on individual series matchups but rather the teams that a team could potentially face to get there. The Mets having to face the Phillies and then one of either the Dodgers or Padres is much tougher than what the Royals have in front of them. It is not a true gauge of head to head probabilities.
The Mets have had the best record in baseball for 4+ months now, just knocked out a 93 win team, and if they somehow knock out a 95 win team, they will have beaten two of the top 4 teams in baseball to advance.
If the Mets advance, I'd put the Dodgers and Padres at 60% chance of beating the Mets. It's definitely not like Yankees v. Twins.
