I really think the turning point in the game was when they scored a run after the Betts homerun. It settled them down.
Well it helped that Stanek and Diaz didn't f*** around and just started throwing gas over the plate. Every other Met pitcher in this series outside of Manaea before he tired has been nibble, nibble, nibble and don't have the stuff to blow away their good hitters. The walks have been killer time and again and they really need to challenge the hitters more, that's the only chance we have of slowing them down enough to win. If we die on our shield, we die on our shield but stop giving them freebees.

The Dodgers don't swing at anything out of the zone. You just have to tip your cap for working the counts the way they are. Walks have been a problem all season and the Dodgers are seizing on it.

Not sure who was worse in the playoffs 2024 Clase or 2023 Vitek Vanecek
Closers are worse than NHL goalies, we’ve all complained about Edwin Diaz at times but even he’s (so far) come through more than the other so called elites in the playoffs though he also gave it up Game 2 in Philly

Clase - getting bombed three times in the playoffs after a microscopic ERA in the regular season

Hader - gave it up against the Tigers

Williams - gave it up against the Mets

The entire Phillies ‘elite’ pen - smacked around by the Mets

Yeah it's a shorter sample size but it boggles my mind how elite guys just go to mush brain come playoffs in these situations and then you have random relievers who become elite. That's playoff sports I guess lol

Extremely fortunate tonight. Felt like the Yankees got the close calls. 9th inning strikeout brutal for the Guardians.
