Blackmailed their way in, rightly or wrongly. Would be great to have more than 4 or 5 competitive teams, but currently there are too many that are a waste of gasoline already.

Hybrids lol .

There are more than enough good young drivers and having 22 seats for them to fill feels like a good thing to me. The grid can support 24, would not shock me if some big oil money from Asia gets a team for 27 or 28.

Six or so teams with optional 3rd cars reserved exclusively to U21 drivers would probably achieve more in that regard.

11 or 12 teams is fine I think. 10 isn't awfully low either, but it's a point where they really can't afford to lose a single team.

We'll see how they approach their drivers. I hope they can actually bring in someone exciting. If they enter the sport with a lineup of Bottas and Ricciardo I might actually lose it.

I'll be surprised if it's not Herta & Crawford. Both rather meh, though I guess it does add something.
I can see an American team allocating one seat to Americans but I think it is bad business to only run American drivers.. same goes for any team .. French. Italian , British etc

I could see them initially looking for one vet to provide some leadership.

I think Herta would need a top 4 Indycar finish for a super license. Or maybe top 5 if he can do some F1 tests for a couple of extra points.

We went through this went RB wanted Herta, but it's still ridiculous how few super license points you get in Indycar unless you win the title.

Nine more points should be realistic given their current form, but they can always start by hiring an experienced test driver like Ricciardo or potentially even Pérez with the promise that they'll get to be the backup option.

RB needs to f*** off and even the grid and end the Red Bull advantage. This is the time F1 needs to step up and do it, no need for 11 teams when one already has 2.
I would be fine with a sale... There are many others out there that have the money to take a team.

It's a good laugh the amount of money in this sport and it manages to employ the least competent people possible to run it.

McLaren head to the last one with the lead. Never know what will happen.

Loved seeing Zhou get Sauber's first points.. for some unknown reason, they have found something in the last 3 races. Speaking of finding something, Alpine are the same. Pace coming late but better late than never.

I'm not sure what's the point of dropping Ocon is. It sure as hell doesn't help Doohan at all. Haas probably isn't going to pass Alpine, but this makes it more likely.

My initial thought was that this has Briatore written all over it. Or maybe just pure French pettiness.
