2024 DRAFT 9th Overall Zayne Parekh

We should call someone up then in that case. Give Solo a few more looks, or Poirier a chance. Bruh has also been about half a point per game for almost 2 months now
I imagine there is 2 issues at play. One is the limited call ups allowed. Flames ate at least one bringing back Klapka. The other is allowing the Wranglers to figure themselves out for their playoffs.

I'm not saying to do this today, I would do it at around the 5 games remaining mark if we are essentially eliminated

We have 2 recalls left since we used one on Hunt too

The Wranglers could really use a shot in the arm offensively. The Flames basically need the defibrillator treatment at this point and I wouldn't want to put that kind of pressure on a teenage dman this late in the season.

Bennett never played a game in the AHL and I think his development suffered from it. Walk before you run. If he's good enough he'll 100% make the team out of camp next year. Look at the quality he's competing with, he'd almost have to have a bad training camp to get cut.

I'd say Bennett's development struggles were more so due to coaching, deployment and lack of depth in his early years.

Bennett-Backlund-Tkachuk would've been the way to go, but oh no Frolik is critical to that lines performance.

With Coleman being the new Frolik in that scenario today, I wonder if we move to separate him and Backlund at some point. I low-key kind of hope we move Backs to 4C with primary PK duties next season and let Zary play center.

I'm not sure Zary is ready for that, honestly and even then, it would only be moderately better than the situation Bennett was in. It's kind of a log jam of mediocrity down the middle and LW right now.

Why wouldn't he be ready for that? Outside of his faceoff percentage he's looked great at center every time he's played it. Put Coleman and like Sharangovich on his wing and I think he would excell

I think the injury set him back quite a bit. He had a strong start to the season but hasn't done much since returning. There's a huge difference between essentially quarterbacking a line and producing as a winger. That being said, you have to learn sometime and I'd be very curious to see if Zary actually has what it takes to be a center, at the NHL level. Personally, I'd like to see the production being a little more consistent first.

Parekh could go out there and turn it over 10 times and he'd still be better than the gong show that is Bean or Miromanov.
Yep. Huska was compelled to dress Miromanov against Dallas in the midst of the playoff push, and after he got walked by Johnston for a goal he was stapled to the bench for the rest of the game.

So "the worst that can happen" has already happened at the most tense time of the year.

I'm a big fan of Pachal at times, but tonight he was unable to make a pass and it really hurt the Flames' ability to get their offensive game going in the first half.

Put in Parekh and see what happens, I say.

Id say bring Solo back up and send Parekh to the Wranglers for their playoff push. But thats me.

Calgary is 3rd worst goals for overall in the league and 1 for 10 on pp last 4 games. Can’t see much downside in at least starting out being a pp specialist and play him in favourable matchup situations and for mostly ozone faceoffs.

"bring him to Calgary" doesn't narrow it down enough for me lol

Flames or Wranglers?
