Give him a few games with the big club and see how he progresses through the summer.
Then he cant play in the AHL playoffs. Better to send him to the Wranglers.Give him a few games with the big club and see how he progresses through the summer.
We should call someone up then in that case. Give Solo a few more looks, or Poirier a chance. Bruh has also been about half a point per game for almost 2 months nowThen he cant play in the AHL playoffs. Better to send him to the Wranglers.
I imagine there is 2 issues at play. One is the limited call ups allowed. Flames ate at least one bringing back Klapka. The other is allowing the Wranglers to figure themselves out for their playoffs. We should call someone up then in that case. Give Solo a few more looks, or Poirier a chance. I'm not saying to do this today, I would do it at around the 5 games remaining mark if we are essentially eliminatedI imagine there is 2 issues at play. One is the limited call ups allowed. Yes if he gets assigned to the Wranglers. If he comes straight to the Flames than no.Parekh can play in the AHL playoffs this year?
Meh. Unlikely the Wranglers go deep anyways. I’d prefer he gets a taste of the nhl than probably getting blown out in a first round matchup. Then he cant play in the AHL playoffs. Better to send him to the Wranglers.
I'd say Bennett's development struggles were more so due to coaching, deployment and lack of depth in his early years. The Wranglers could really use a shot in the arm offensively. The Flames basically need the defibrillator treatment at this point and I wouldn't want to put that kind of pressure on a teenage dman this late in the season.
Bennett never played a game in the AHL and I think his development suffered from it. Walk before you run. If he's good enough he'll 100% make the team out of camp next year. Look at the quality he's competing with, he'd almost have to have a bad training camp to get cut.
With Coleman being the new Frolik in that scenario today, I wonder if we move to separate him and Backlund at some point. I low-key kind of hope we move Backs to 4C with primary PK duties next season and let Zary play center.I'd say Bennett's development struggles were more so due to coaching, deployment and lack of depth in his early years.
Bennett-Backlund-Tkachuk would've been the way to go, but oh no Frolik is critical to that lines performance.
I'm not sure Zary is ready for that, honestly and even then, it would only be moderately better than the situation Bennett was in. It's kind of a log jam of mediocrity down the middle and LW right now. With Coleman being the new Frolik in that scenario today, I wonder if we move to separate him and Backlund at some point. Why wouldn't he be ready for that? Outside of his faceoff percentage he's looked great at center every time he's played it. Put Coleman and like Sharangovich on his wing and I think he would excellI'm not sure Zary is ready for that, honestly and even then, it would only be moderately better than the situation Bennett was in. I think the injury set him back quite a bit. He had a strong start to the season but hasn't done much since returning. There's a huge difference between essentially quarterbacking a line and producing as a winger. That being said, you have to learn sometime and I'd be very curious to see if Zary actually has what it takes to be a center, at the NHL level. Personally, I'd like to see the production being a little more consistent first. Why wouldn't he be ready for that?
