I think the CHL is the right place for both Chernyshov, and Halttunen, just for different reasons. Haltts needs to continue to round out his game, and show that he can perform against first and second matchups. I-gor plays a pro ready game, but has been getting minimal play time in pro leagues. He should play against players his own age so that he can hopefully dominate offensively, and carry that confidence on to the next level.

Officially. Chernyshov and his "Russian factor" turned him into the NA right after the draft.
Congrats. Your top-5 prospect 11-20 pick level will playing sooner for your team than you could thought on the draft.

He's the perfect compliment for Michael Misa. Misa is a smooth skating 2 way center that thinks the game at a high level. Will be able to set up Chernyhsov all season. Based on video, Chernyshov is going to be great for zone entries with his size and speed. Saginaw is very much a team that looks to carry pucks into the zone whenever possible. Will be interesting to see who they throw on the right side to finish the line. Have a couple decent options. There is OA Calem Mangone. Undersized but balanced PPG player. The vet presence would be good for him. Also could throw in Nashvill pick Joey Willis. Hard working/energy type player. Currently at the WJC summer showcase for team USA. Any way you slice it, this is going to be a great situation for Igor to round out his offensive game before moving onto pros full time.
that makes it all the more sweeter when he eventually becomes a PPG+ 2nd line LW on the future Stanley Cup winning Sharks team.

So we should expect a jump from the 1.27 MHL points per game Chernyshov scored last season.

1.27 PPG would be 86 pts in the OHL. That would be an exceptional season for him. Start going above 1.27 and you flirt with 100 point seasons. That’s a bit much especially when you consider Halttunen was barely over PPG and he was great.
The MHL is not even roughly equivalent to the OHL. Even bad OHL teams has some NHL prospects. Prospects are sparse in the MHL. I’d probably slot MHL a bit better than junior A but not CHL quality. Probably closer to a BCHL which has a handful of NHL prospects but isn’t quite as good as the CHL.

Hmm, I dunno if I really believe the MHL and OHL are quite that comparable. 1.27 PPG would be a pretty good season for Chernyshov in Saginaw I think. He will have Misa and Parekh, and those two are legit top talents, but they won’t be as good as this year’s Mem Cup winning squad with guys like Beck, Haight, Dionicio, Donavan, Hache, and Bloom likely moving to the AHL.
Thing with Halts was he was deployed as a PP specialist and didn't get first line minutes.
I don't know how many graduating players London has but I would expect an uptick from him if he gets moved up the lineup

Dynamo`s office is adequate so I guess MG will not have problems with getting Rimashevskiy in a year, if Yegor will want to come. And wouldn`t have problems to get Igor in 2025 too.

I wouldn't doubt if Gold Star is *compensating* the Chernyshovs very handsomely here. Probably more than his KHL salary.
It just made no sense why a potential KHL regular would cross the pond just to play junior hockey. I think Chernyshov might be the 1st, ever.
It certainly would explain his father's involvement.

NHL teams also have a lot of influence on their prospects choosing to come to the CHL, selling it as an opportunity to come to North America, acclimate to the culture, adjust to the rink dimensions if necessary, and have the club be more in touch and close at hand to guide them.
Lots of times I see CHL clubs draft players in their import draft who don't come over pre-NHL-draft and then once they're drafted by an NHL club they make the trip and play a year in the CHL before moving up. Locally I saw it with Fabian Lysell, who was in Sweden until he was drafted by the Bruins then after that he came and played a season with the Vancouver Giants before moving on to Bruins camp for the next season (though he ended up in Providence). That could be the plan for Chernyshov too. Tell him "the best way to have a strong crack at the Sharks for 25-26 is to come now and play a season in Saginaw. Then you'll start next year in camp with us and we can go from there.
