In search of a Steinbach Hero
Couple names from my neck of the woods at this event as Free Agents.
Brown was super-hyped at the beginning of the MJHL year for Niverville - Actually listed by NHL central scouting pre-season. Not a great start to the season, but found his legs as the year went on.
And I maintain Mistelbacher should have been drafted - He fit like a glove with other outstanding players around him in the dub, and that might continue in the pro ranks - Obviously a risky pick, but that's what the late rounds are for.
He wasn't even picked in the WHL draft as a 15-year-old, fought his way onto the roster and was outstanding for Swift Current after they picked up Geekie.
I'm planning on heading down one day, anyone else from HF gonna be there?

Barlow looks like that guy at a social crushing 16 drink tickets announcing that "he got drafted into the nhl once"

I'm sure Barlow misses his buddy McGroarty, but he has also done the math and realizes that his path to a prominent NHL position likely got a bit shorter.
Colby Barlow...Now there's a real standup Jets prospect, going to development camp and everything! I say give him a spot on the NHL roster, he deserves it.

A big year from Lucius along with him staying healthy would be huge.

Agreed. He's lost so much time to injury. He needs to be healthy.
I often forget we even have Lucius since he's never playing, no expectations but would love to be pleasantly surprised by a good next season.

On the plus side, before this last injury he looked very good in the AHL. So the previous years didn't seem to completely stunt his development. For f***s sake though let this be it.
