Make Raider Nation even more insufferable. For what purpose bringing in BB is gonna do?
Well he already has lasted longer there than he did with the Jets$10 million buyout if he leaves before June 1st, not sure if the NFL is part of that.
I figure Bill took the UNC job so he'd at least be coaching somewhere in 2025, but if the right job comes up hell happily return to the NFL.
Shocker!
Vrabel signed with NE, so that one is off the table. The cynic in me wonders if this is him trying to create some financial leverage from a cheap ass team like the Bears or maybe Jags.
However, if true, then that's a surprise for me. He's going to wait and wait and wait and then sign up for that owner and no QB? NFLN sure is pushing it though.
The Rooney Rule also doesn't apply to certain powerful owners. When Jerry picks his new white coach, he never has cared about complying with the Rooney Rule. They’re not being very subtle. Their Rooney Rule interviews were Pep Hamilton and Byron Leftwich.
And Fords were pretty gooddamn awful for very long time.Yea, I meant to add that Ford is an exception. As is Hunt, York, Glazer.
But most of them are awful (Adams, Davis, McCaskey, Brown, Irsay etc).
On one hand, the rule is there for a reason. On the other, there’s no point in forcing owners to interview someone they never intend to hire. The Rooney Rule also doesn't apply to certain powerful owners. When Jerry picks his new white coach, he never has cared about complying with the Rooney Rule.
The truth is Jerry hates interviewing coaches at all. He picks his next guy and hires him without ever doing a real search. This is mostly why McCarthy is back. Jerry doesn't seem to have anyone available that he's wanted as a coach, so he's going the easy route of keeping McCarthy because a coaching search would be a lot of work.
The Bears are interviewing anything with a pulse. It feels like they don't have a plan.Bears having an in-person interview with Ron Rivera today:
I’d be up for this if we were still in 2020, but after his tenure in Washington? Man, I hope this is a courtesy interview.
