Astros in 3. Going to say that Skubal takes G1 then we come and take the next 2.

Houston in 3. Same as the above. Skubal throws a gem game 1 and then the astros experience takes over.

Not being forced to use Skubal today certainly helps. But I have zero expectations here.

It was stated during one of the Tigers games last week that they have the most rookies on a roster to ever reach the playoffs in the Wild Card era.

No clue which team holds that record outside of them.

2 years in the expanded wild card era, small sample but only 1 wildcard series went 3 games. Padres Mets 2022. I am thinking taking one team or the other in 2 is the smart play. Houston in 2. But I wouldn't be surprised if Detroit goes on a run either. We've seen time and time again these teams who get hot late in the season continue staying hot. Every post season it seems like there is a team like this.

I think Detroit takes 1 of these games but the experienced Astros prevail in 3.

Return of Hinch and Espada knowing him and still being friends with him is a interesting story line. Too bad Verlander is struggling lately. He won't or at least shouldn't see any action in this series unless they try him out as a relief pitcher? Him facing his old team would have been fun.

Verlander came back way too soon from his neck injury. It's possible we might see him from the BP at some point though.....Maybe.

Skubal is scary and I predicted that he'd beat us but it's also worth mentioning that we haven't lost an opening playoff game since 2001 against the Braves so we'll see how this goes.

Update - Nevermind . We will not be seeing JV out of the BP this series. Left off the WC roster.

I love Blanco as an option out of the BP if the series starts to go south. Could mess with any possible ALDS start but he is the number 4 man so it's fine.

Also, it's absolutely nuts that only 1 Tiger from that roster has postseason experience. We'll see if it affects them at all.

We need Framber to continue doing what he's been doing for the last few months. No meltdowns please. Tbh I feel like a good chunk of Astros fans have overblown the frequency in which he has melted down in the past but when he does , oh boy. Everything goes down the drain. Pitching , Fielding, and just sheer common sense.
