As for his game, there are quite a few positives that stand out when watching Holinka. He is a solid puck handler when skating at top speed and understands where he needs to be positionally in both the offensive and defensive zones. Holinka is also a player who isn't afraid to drive the net, often creating second-chance opportunities for his teammates if he does not score.
Up next for Holinka will be proving he can produce at the pro level. As mentioned, he did see time in Czechia's top division but only had three points in 16 games while rarely cracking ten minutes of ice time. There is no doubt he is a very skilled player, but he needs to take that next step if he wants to continue his development and make an impact in North America.
Believe I heard Wes Clark say they expect him to come to NA next year. May be my favourite pick of the bunch.Think this kid could come over in the CHL import draft?
I still have his jersey.Toronto has picked 151st overall 3 times in their history, most recently selecting Vaclav Zavoral in 1999.
He’s got more offense than Kampf. More likely to be a middle six player.David Kampf replacement
drafted by Edmonton in the CHL import draft.
Clark said it was likely Holinka came to NA next year to play Junior. His rights belong to Waterloo in the USHL and now the Oil Kings in the WHL.
I'd be shocked if he didn't go to the WHL to play next year.
While 2 / 3 years is probably optimistic, it is very encouraging to see a 5th rounder with this much potential. This guy shouldn't have dropped to 5th round. He may be our 2nd line C in 2/3 years.More upside than Minten.
This kid isn’t going to bomb. I think he will dominate juniors in the WHL.What is a realistic and optimistic expectation from him in the WHL this year?
It's always a bit disappointing when we draft someone from overseas and they bomb a bit in NA juniors (Olden, Dzierkals).
He is playing with men now. 3 years is max. He may easily put on 10 lbs by then. Better pick than Minten. While 2 / 3 years is probably optimistic, it is very encouraging to see a 5th rounder with this much potential.
nice to be optimistic, but Minten might develop into a modern version of Darryl Sittler, he is that good!He is playing with men now. 3 years is max. He may easily put on 10 lbs by then. Better pick than Minten.

It is early, but this guy looks this year's homerun pick. The Leafs are good for one of these picks every year.
