It's funny you say that, I have a 2 year old son and another baby coming any day now, and I was recently catching up with one of my father's friends who's in his late 60s and a huge Habs fan, and he pointed out that he thinks my kids generation will be much luckier Habs fans than my generation was.

I think so, too. My hope is this new regime can usher in at least one cup, would love to see it with my parents, many great memories watching some of our runs with them.
Agreed, id love to get a cup while my parents are around still and the kids are old enough to remember. I was too young to remember the '93 cup.

Our last Cup had Roy as a superstar but it’s not the same level of excitement with no real offensive superstar like Lafleur. Leclair was too young. And Damphousse was a second-tier star. Not much run and gun exciting hockey for 35 years.

Been watching since 88-89 and I’ve never seen it. Those Burns teams were perennial contenders but not super fun to watch.
I feel like the Cup win year under Demers we were a little more offensive minded. I was quite young though

As far as I can remember he was never Top-10 in scoring. Maybe he reached Top-15 or 20 a couple of times IDK. Can’t remember. Was he a star?Sure. Was he a first tier offensive star? you tell me? He had a long productive career and won the Cup.
Edit: I checked his four 90 point seasons. He finished 18, 20, 21 and 25th in scoring.
