Demidov is the best prospect we’ve had in my time watching the Habs, in his prime teams will be focused on surviving Demidov shifts.

Coach makes comments about him not shooting enough he goes and scores 4 games in a row lol. He has that rare combination of elite skill, work ethic and love for the game.

What a treat to watch and fortunate series of events to land him.
I wish we drafted him when I was a kid. Instead it was an endless list of picks like Jose Charbonneau and Mark Pederson.

Finally, the visit in Russia by Hughes & cie is paying dividends on the ice.

How come the coaching staff of SKA were all wearing tuxedos ?

To celebrate the Russian new years,

"Happy New Year to everybody. Congrats. I wish everyone health, good luck and more exciting games with fewer blows to the head next year (sarcastic remark regarding Kuznetsov's injury) so that our players can make our fans happy"

Glotov is a C. So the trade wont make much difference for Demidov.

Dumb trade regardless. SKA got robbed.
So is Kuznetsov, who's out for a bit
C doesn't rly matter here

That's 2 players from the top6,top9, PP,
No matter how you wanna cut it, that's top6 and PP time that trickles down
Ivan *could* be a beneficiary either way

I'm excited my son is going to grow up watching Demidov absolutely shred in a Habs jersey.
It's funny you say that, I have a 2 year old son and another baby coming any day now, and I was recently catching up with one of my father's friends who's in his late 60s and a huge Habs fan, and he pointed out that he thinks my kids generation will be much luckier Habs fans than my generation was.

Absolutely, not even really close either imo.

Just absolutely robbery picking him at #5. Chicago, Anaheim, and Columbus will have nightmares about that draft for a long, long time.
Bobrovs face and response was really interesting when they asked him if he was a steal(or something along those lines) at 5th. He said "that's an understatement".

I think so, too. My hope is this new regime can usher in at least one cup, would love to see it with my parents, many great memories watching some of our runs with them.

Agreed, id love to get a cup while my parents are around still and the kids are old enough to remember. I was too young to remember the '93 cup.

Our last Cup had Roy as a superstar but it’s not the same level of excitement with no real offensive superstar like Lafleur. Leclair was too young. And Damphousse was a second-tier star. Not much run and gun exciting hockey for 35 years.

Been watching since 88-89 and I’ve never seen it. Those Burns teams were perennial contenders but not super fun to watch.

I feel like the Cup win year under Demers we were a little more offensive minded. I was quite young though

What do you mean second tier star? 1200 points in the NHL is pretty elite in my book. Not everyone can have Guy Lafleur career.

As far as I can remember he was never Top-10 in scoring. Maybe he reached Top-15 or 20 a couple of times IDK. Can’t remember. Was he a star?Sure. Was he a first tier offensive star? you tell me? He had a long productive career and won the Cup.

Edit: I checked his four 90 point seasons. He finished 18, 20, 21 and 25th in scoring.
