Rotenberg has just discovered something big:
Play Demidov = Good things happen!
First time I see coaches wear bowties at a game...
Just for comparisons sake:
2023-2024- Matvei Michkov 3.02 PTS/60 Mins playerd with a - 6 goal differential
2024-2025- Ivan Demidov 3.58 PTS/ 60 Mins played with a +18 goal differential
To be fair to Michkov, he was playing on the worst team in the KHL. So his +/- shouldn't be held against him. Only 3 players had a + rating on Sochi.
What I do find impressive in Demidov's case is that while we're not impressed with Rotenbererg's usage of him, he's still doing all this playing on one of the best teams. The same organization Michkov couldn't grab a spot in and had to be loaned out instead. But to Michkov's credit, he found a way to make it work for him.
Yes, this is not to downgrade what Michkov did, but more to show how impressive Demidov has been.
And don't forget, although Michkov was on a worse team in Sochi, he was getting way more opportunities in terms of offensive zone starts, pp time and overall playing time.

And don't forget, although Michkov was on a worse team in Sochi, he was getting way more opportunities in terms of offensive zone starts, pp time and overall playing time. Michkov was getting on average 2:55 of PP time per game while Demidov is currently at an average of 0:29 of PP time per game.
What's most impressive with Demidov is that his PTS/ 60 mins (3.79) is probably the highest in the KHL. I'm looking at the leading scorers in the KHL and he's higher than anybody at the moment....and he just turned 19.
Nothing to see here folks, move alongUpdate- Demidov now up to 3.79 PTS / 60 Mins played.
Did they credit Demidov with another assist? I'm now seeing 1 G, 2 A on the KHL website.
Hey, it's Christmas time, a gift would be niceit likely will be fixed as he was not on the ice for the goal.
Correct. If Therrien was still coaching Hutson would be getting less then 10 min a game because let's face it Hutson has had some pretty brutal giveaways, and those would drive MT insane. So even if MSL isn't developing Hutson (Which I don't agree with), it's clear as day that we would be tearing down his confidence and trying to get him to change his entire game under most of our previous coaches.

I see you slipped in a certain player in there... hahahahaf***ing pinch me. I can't believe this kid is getting added to this team next year.
Suzuki, Slaf, Caufield, Hutson, Schaefer, Laine......Demidov.
Un-f***ing real.
Will believe it, when i will see itInteresting
Glotov was 2nd on the team in goals with 12
Could be more playing time for Ivan the Great
KHL website seems to be giving Demi an assist on the 4-4 Nikishin goal. Not sure how accurate that is.
so 1g 2a ?
if you go on their site, you can click on the goal and it will show that Demidov wasn't on the ice.

Demidov is the best prospect we’ve had in my time watching the Habs, in his prime teams will be focused on surviving Demidov shifts.
Coach makes comments about him not shooting enough he goes and scores 4 games in a row lol. He has that rare combination of elite skill, work ethic and love for the game.
What a treat to watch and fortunate series of events to land him.
