Wasn't there some fire safety issues in that new arena and they had to shut it down? And went back to the old arena for this season or something?That's accurate, even if he's bragging to his local media.
The SKA Arena opened in 2023 with a 21 152 seats capacity, beating the Bell Center by ~50 seats.
There was an actual fire last June, but they returned to it a few days ago (so interesting timing
).

I would point out one thing. Ivan is 19 years old, this is his first season among men. He needs to get used to the pace, improve his conditioning, after all he didn't even play in the VHL (kind of like the AHL) to play a lot of minutes in every game even against the best teams. Besides, there are too many players in the offense for top 6. For example, today Tolchinskiy and Rendulic played on the fourth line, which are typologically TOP 6 players. Plus Gritsyuk didn't play.
Unfortunately, SKA has a pretty bad team formation system. This is not what the other TOP teams do. Just look at the rosters. For example, last year's the GC winner - Metallurg Magnitogorsk used young players as Andrei Razin can work with them very well. Even CSKA has stopped doing that.
Btw, Kantserov (2004) and Silantyev (2000) played fewer minutes in regulation than they did in the PO in the last season even under Andrei Razin who really likes to give a chance young guys.
It sounds strange though, but his best chance is the PO. Not only he should get used to the pace of the KHL enough to play a lot of regular minutes but, since SKA wants to win the Cup, if he gets better, he'll play more. Similar like Roman Kantserov and Dmitri Voronkov, for example. Or Prokhor Poltapov from CSKA in 2022/23 season (won the GC), when he started in the PO with less than 2 minutes and eventually played in the top 9. Unfortunately without PP and PK.

I wonder how his minutes would total come season’s end compared to say a ncaa season where I imagine he’d play more minutes but way fewer games.

Maybe specifically the Montreal Canadiens aren’t the best spot to play wing right now I’m thinking also.
