It's oooook guys, it's OK, this is not some big catastrophe
This isn't 'ruining him'
This is just 'frustrating to see', it sucks a bit, but it's gonna be ok
It isn't even surprising either, was half expected
It's not 3 years, it's 1
He's not gonna become a worse player, he's not gonna forget how to play hockey

If anything, this is just giving him more reason 'not to want to stay in Russia longer' which he's made very clear from the getgo he wasn't, therefor partially creating this exact scenario thats been unfolding as some sort of feedback loop as the KHL's unfortunate desperate attempt at keeping star talent in the motherland by trying to force them to gain more playing time by adding years to their contracts keeping them away from their actual dream

Demidov ain't buying it
He's gonna suck it up, bide his time, and before he and we know it, he's playing 16mins a night for MSL with great players making our team better and more dangerous

Yeah at this point his TOI is a secondary issue. They just want to play games f***ing with his mind, he’s better anywhere else including in the MHL or VHL. Nothing good will come out of him with SKA.

They have a plan for Demidov and it has nothing to do with his development nor helping SKA win games this season. There’s zero good faith and zero good intentions.

Rotenburg is probably trying to convince him that: if he can't play in top 6 in SKA, he's not ready for the NHL; therefore please sign a 3 year extension or some dumb shit,.

Yea it definitely sucks, but with his prospect profile I don't think it's the end of the world.

If he was more of a "project" prospect along the lines of Slaf, who was going to require lots of refinement, then I'd be more concerned. Those are the guys that need every minute of ice time they can get.

Demidov already seems to have elite IQ, playmaking and compete. So you could argue the 2 most important things for him would be to add on muscle and to adapt to the NA game. He's still going to get a full year in the gym and even though getting more KHL reps would help him get use to playing against men, I don't think it's going to hold him much back in the long run.

Plus every minute he isn't on the ice is another minute he can't get injured on the ice:thumbu:

One thing I had noticed about his interactions on IG: he was full on likes to any post from Habs players post draft and onwards (Slaf, CC to name a few). And, suddenly, I’d say somewhere early in his season, they became much less frequent.

Me suspects someone in his entourage told him to keep a lower profile re: his ties to the Habs.

Some here have interesting theories. The people that have follow led the K for years believe this is normal practice by his team.

The other interesting theory is the one about his Russian club trying to ‘convince’ him to sign for more years. And applying some pressure.

Elles se valent toutes. But this is becoming a very interesting situation.

In any case, the kid is too talented to suffer long term because of this archaic treatment. He’s a potential game changer for us. So let’s keep looking forward to next summer when he signs here.

Nah, he’s still likes posts all the time. All preseason too.

I was thinking about how when we went into the rebuild my thoughts were always that we needed to finish at the bottom two years running.
The Crosby Malkin or Toews Kane two headed monster that led to multiple cups.
I'm beginning to think we may have that with Slaf Demidov who can both end up being the class of their respective drafts.
Now we just have to get everything else those teams had.

Get a competent, high minutes, high quality RHD and everything falls into place. I sincerely believe that.

Demidov was the tough piece to get. I think we made out like bandits. We have a real shot at building a winning team with this guy.

Your post is the same as some dude in Chelyabinsk saying players risk sexual molestation in the NHL because of what occurred with Chicago.

"KHL's desperate attempt"? Rotenberg's player usage does not represent the entirety of the KHL any more than Chicago does the NHL.

Stereotyping and overly broad thinking is so stupid.

The fanbase death threated him when we got him

And also, these type are as scarce and unavailable as a 1C.
I’m thinking of a more established one than a rookie/prospect. And yes, those are hard to get, but that’s why management get paid the big bucks.
