I guess the Shanahanman schtick with Danielson got old so he moved on to a new account and prospect. Hopefully there's a ball hockey tournament somewhere soon so we can all get a break
I like Danielson.

And forgive me for being observant re: noticing that Plante probably doesn't have NHL talent.

Yep, not worth responding to at all. I just realised it too late lol
Yes.

I ask you half a dozen times to send me ONE clip of this kid demonstrating NHL talent..

And what you finally send me is a 50 second "shooting highlight" reel of what looks like an ECHL talent.

I asked my question: "What is it that all the Plante lovers see in this kid that I don't?".

And I got my answer: Nothing.

Thanks.

I am not worth responding to.

When you said he cant penalty kill despite killing penalties well, the literally only time you've watched him play should've been when I realized it lol. You finally got something right in your posts though with that last line I guess

I've watched him kill penalties...he won't be able to do it the NHL level...he's too slow.

You seem to have bad eyes for hockey.

And to generally be an unhappy/unfunny person.

So I'm going to block you. Remember me when Plante amounts to nothing 🙂

No. I am a human being. Like all human beings, I make assumptions based on available information. Like all human beings, I have made my assumption (here) based on available information.

From what I can see, he seems to not be physical...not he fast enough to pk...and to not have special offensive talent.

I am asking his "lovers" to show me new information.

Send me some clips of him doing Anything special on offense... or of him making Any impressive plays on defense. Certainly you could at least send me one if there are so many.
I haven’t seen him play much but people have usually commented that his biggest strength is his playmaking/passing ability. (Some people even said he was one of the best passers in the draft last year)

If you are focusing on his shooting/PK ability, that might be why you aren’t seeing his biggest strength.

He had 69 assists in 76 games last year and 8 assists in 11 college games so far.

I've watched his US games and seen his youtube highlights. I never see him making really exceptional, high-skill/IQ required passes.

I mostly just see him on a line of All-Stars racking up ast #'s making simple passes to studs playing against the sisters of the poor.

Max Plante, as a Freshman, is 10th in the nation in points per game. The only Freshman in the top 20. He has points in all games this season, except for 2.

Scouting Report from WJC: "Max Plante, LW (USA): Plante had a solid showing with three points, but he also rarely lost a battle on a shift. That’s because he’s always moving and forcing you to make quick decisions on the fly. He’s a high-end playmaker who should play serious minutes next year – his ability to play with anyone and generate opportunities makes him solid."

Who were you before ElProfessor? Come on...you can tell me, I won't tell anyone :)

To add to this:

"Plante is one of the most skilled passers in the draft, especially off the backhand. He feathers pucks through the tiniest of openings. Defensive pressure only empowers him; he takes advantage of assertive defending by ripping a pass right through it. He deceives enough to open lanes, but also knows when to make the quick pass for the counterattack." Elite Prospects

Dude is leading his team in points/game while sitting 11th in the league. He played World Juniors at 18, will be eligible next year.

I'm not sure why anyone would be trying to cap him as a prospect at this point.

That's a pretty convenient position, isn't it: i'm not convinced, i don't see it, please show me. The thing is you can only show something to somebody who is wants to see. You can try to look as objectivistic as possible ("analyse available information, make assumptions based on it") in the end your position is very subjective, because it is all about your perception of this information (cannot PK despite doing well in that role currently, not having high IQ, despite raking up assists on very high for a freshman level). All these is not based on any objective information, but on how you proceed this information with the help of your expertise. The thing is, in order to argue based on expertise you need to demonstrate it first. You are making an assumption and asks others to disprove it , where it is actually up to you to provide a proof for your assumption. Until you do so i will consider you as another elderly ball hockey player who hates himself and the world, with no expertise whatsoever.

Do you have clips supporting your position that he lacks physicality, that he’s not fast enough to kill penalties (which is a curious suggestion to me in the first place - I don’t think straight line speed is that crucial for penalty killing. I think agility and anticipation are, and those often correlate with being “fast”, but are distinct characteristics), or that his offensive abilities aren’t likely to translate up effectively?

Before I lost my medical license in the US? My origin story??

He's scored 8 goals, great. Plenty of bad scouts in the world (especially writing free articles on the internet). Plenty of top-10 NCAA points players who had nice careers entertaining AHL fanbases.

Hope I'm wrong.

Yes. That clip above ^ the other guy posted that was supposed to be highlighting his strengths.

Your fixation and dismissal of him as a prospect is really odd.

Everything is pointing to a solid prospect here. The USNTDP has been a fan of this kid since he was 16. He has posted solid numbers at world juniors (in a support role as an 18 year old with eligibility to return next season) and other international tournaments with the US team.

Bob Mackenzie had him ranked 65th in his draft class. (As reminder Mackenzie's rankings are a consolidation of NHL scout opinions). He's demonstrated good production as a College Freshman carrying the best points/game on his team, flashes a high ceiling and an ability to play in different roles/systems.

Maybe he ultimately amounts to nothing but it's far too early. Overall he has trended well as a young prospect. Let him cook.
