2024 2nd Overall Artyom Levshunov

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
I'm cool with him heading back to Rockford with an idea of what he needs to work on in the offseason. Good showing Lev. I hope his voice is the same as Lev the hero Russian cosmonaut from Armageddon

Two interesting facts:

- Levshunov has been on the ice for 3 empty net goals against.

- Every single player on the team has a negative plus/minus since the game against the Avs (Lev's debut)

Plus/Minus is a flawed stat. Lev has been getting a lot of time at the end of these games with the goalie pulled because he does a better job of generating from the backend than pretty much anyone else here. And what he's got to show for that is being on the ice for 3 goals against in those situations. Murphy isn't getting those opportunities, because the coaching staff wants to get the game even and Murph isn't known for his ability to generate offense.

Again, I'd like the poster who brought this subject back up today to explain why David Rundblad was better than Duncan Keith in that 2014-2015 season? Or why Michal Rozsival was better than Brent Seabrook in that same year? Because that's what plus/minus would suggest. That poster seems unable or unwilling to answer despite numerous attempts and responses to other posts of mine.

That poster also keeps suggesting that they don't question Lev's offense and then mentions today that he's on a 32pt pace. First, he's 19 in his D+1 season. Second, last season, all three of Nurse, Ekman Larsson, and Provorov had 32pts (each having at least 80 games played). They are listed as the 47th, 48th, and 49th best defeseman according strictly to points (according to EP).

If Levshunov was nothing more than a 32pt defenseman, he'd be in/around the top 50 offensive producers on the backend every single year. He absolutely will continue to develop, but even if he magically didn't (like Oldscool seems to want to believe), he'd still have solid production. His defensive game won't be such a hindrance that if would offset clear top pairing offensive ability and that he'd be nothing more than a bottom pairing D.

And while I can go on criticizing this poster on here, I'll simply go back to a point I made here yesterday and they, again, didn't want to respond to. It's pathetic to claim, without any evidence, that you have a buddy that was an NHL scout and use that 'friend' as a means to win arguments on an online forum. You have no idea the amount of second hand embarassment I'm getting from reading your posts. I didn't feel anything about you as a poster a week ago, but now I cringe anytime I see your name. You really should've just cut your losses at the whole "Bottom 6" comment regarding Levshunov.

I could care less what you think. Means nothing to me. My buddy gave a current assessment of his development and its spot on so take your ball and go home.

Maybe you missed the:

On pace for 32 points and a -147. Moved to 3rd d pairing...send back to Rockford to develop. Long way to go.....

As I said yesterday, please refrain from responding to any of my posts in this thread until you answer these questions:

In the 14-15 season, who was better between Rundblad and Keith? And in that same season, who was better, Rozsival or Seabrook?
Nice to see you move the goal posts from this being an award to 'well, why do they still track it then?'.

They track it because it's a stat. A very flawed one, but still a stat.

Why don't you answer the question I've asked numerous times to you here, who was better in the 14-15 season, Keith or Rundblad? And who was better in that season between Seabs and Rozsival?

Please refrain from responding to any future posts of mine in this thread until you answer those two questions.

Or maybe someone came on here with some professional scouting comments and fanboys attacked him and it turns out that the assessment was correct and your feelings are hurt and you can't admit you were wrong?

I hope Lev turns into a stud. But he is a looong way away from being a good NHL defenseman.
They weren’t your professional scouting comments they were from an unknown person who we can’t even verify if it’s legitimate.

Hell I can pretend I have a scout friend that said Paul Ludwinski is the next coming of Mario Lemieux doesn’t mean it’s true lmao.

But normally the rule of thumb is that if he was a good scout that would actually be his profession still and he would still work for teams instead of doing accounting or whatever he is doing now

Keep eating out my hand you little pigeon.
