People (twitter and hfboards) have declared Levshunov a bust since before draft despite being consensus high on McKenzie list and others.

Sharks are crushing their rebuild with eleventh pick Dickinson as their best defenseman because he’s playing well in the ohl, which is a children’s league but that’s good because it’s where McDavids come from. Levshunov is not the best defenseman in the AHL, which is a league with fringe NHLers and highly drafted prospects and that’s bad because it’s where busts get sent to.

Just gotta see how it all plays out. I still imagine he starts next year in AHL but if he does well could get called up midway like Nazar did this year.

Forgot to add that the “vibes” are better for SJ too because Celebrini smiles more and he and Will Smith are best friends.

Yes, the entire discourse around the Hawks v Sharks rebuilds has become ridiculous. Predictable though, Hawks are easily the most disliked NHL team amongst other fans. (Or one of)

Here's all i know....

With the way this Demidov has been relentlessly stroked around here by Habs fans and Hawk haters alike(so basically 99% of everyone that posts)....if he doesn't put up AT LEAST 60-65 pts as a rookie I'm gonna make sure nobody hears the end of it.

+1

majority of the hawks rebuild pieces aren't even on the roster lol...they're starting to get there and you're seeing some results with Nazar but the Hawks teardown will be more than fine if they don't do anything really stupid with their cap space and allow themselves to be bad enough to get another blue chip forward or two to really round out the system

This stupid site has been over hyping young players for 20+ years. I remember Tuomo Ruutu being an 8A or 8.5A. Did he ever turn into a consistent 1st line forward? No.

Demidov is getting hyped through the moon. Until he does it in the NHL he's just another prospect.

I heard Will Smith slapped Celebrini

I agree with the premise of your post but reducing the OHL to a child’s league when it produces elite talent consistently is disingenuous.

Calling it a child’s league is downplaying Dickinson’s season.
Agree that Child’s league isn’t the right verbiage but the quality of competition in the NCAA let alone the AHL is 1000% better than the OHL.

One league you are playing fringe NHLers, older competition (with the absolutely but rare bare minimum being 18 years old), and other teams top prospects while in the CHL league you are facing players ranging from 15-19 who aren’t even close to being done growing yet from a physical standpoint.

Sure many teams have prospects playing in the CHL but doing well in the CHL as an overager shouldn’t be held in high regard as it is with some people especially on a team like London who historically has been very good for the better part of the last 20+ years

Dickinson isn't an overager, he's 18.

I do agree that the eye test doesn't quite match the production for me with him, might end up being like a Kale Clague 2017-18 anomaly (Dickinson is younger though). Regardless though, Dickinson's production this season is special and I don't see any reason to undermine it other than being insecure Hawks fans. Who's the last dman to have this sort of season with London, if playing on this team plays such a big role in his production? Id assume nobody

To be clear Dickinson is fine prospect but he’s also the only notable D Prospect they have and dominating in junior is good but it is far removed from the AHL which is a lot tougher for a young D.
