my initial response was in regard to OP dismissing Bader and his tweet/model, and then it went on from there, I said why ignore what the data says about Demidov projecting as a really really good prospect and perhaps the better pick at this time, again I was simply asking the question why dismiss the data, because its not in favor of the prospect the Hawks selected? and if you do dismiss hard data then what do you go off, vibes and feels? I acknowledged from the start that solely relying on this guy's model is clearly flawed based on Hattrick Kane comment about Kane vs Bonino nonsense but to dismiss it entirely because the comp system is flawed also seems bad, it could end up directionally correct
I don't think I ever said Davidson should be fired for the pick but that it could end up the most important decision Davidson ends up making in the rebuild, ending up with Celebrini would've just made everything a lot easier to project out, but I can appreciate your response a lot and see the points made
Not to rehash this part, but just to quickly clarify. I wasn’t dismissing data, just implying that all that matters to me right now is what the Hawks prospect does rather than being hung up on a comparison between the two players.

little bit of PTSD with the losing/non-contending for a long while now, and the reality is you really have maybe 3-5 years? of true tank years where you have real top 3 pick odds and your ceiling can be defined by who you take with the picks and how good they even end up so these are as important as any obviously, the thought of going through all this losing just to end up a playoff team with Bedard and possibly have a lower ceiling because a decision or two went wrong on the margin is not exciting so hopefully Lev and all the others 1sts etc end up home runs
probably, and some of these threads can feel like reading online reviews, those with strong opinions one way or the other are more likely to post and depending which side you're on and the distribution of positive and negative it can feel like an echo chamber as far as certain topics are concerned (caleb, bedard, etc), how many indifferent fans just don't post in these prospect threads much at all, just leads to more polar takes

If you look at other high end picks like Nemec and Jiricek, both of them were top end AHL defensemen in their D+1 year. For a 2nd oa pick, your expectations should be higher. He's having a season very similar to Stian Solberg (in his draft class who also plays pro hockey). I'm hopeful he has a good summer and he has a better season next year.
On better teams. Rockford is a dumpster fire, it’s been discussed pretty extensively.
