I think our fanbase leans whiny rather than homer to be honest. I've been a part of online fandoms that are (usually mod-enforced) rah-rah about everything, and I don't think this is one.

I am active on a handful of boards and this one is the only one that has downright rude jerks. It's one thing to have a different opinion, obviously these things wouldn't exist without different opinions, but there is no need to be a complete asshole.

people have a way of dismissing and belittling others with counter opinions a lot on this board, see it enough with other posters, fact is everyone on here has posted what ended up being a bad take or two and a right take or two over time, there is no scoreboard keeping count of that but you'd think there was
idk man, you kinda kicked it off by bringing up people being "defensive", say this board is an "echo chamber", talk about main board consensus, mock people for what you call "vibes", call the fanbase "delusional" and believing something about being a fanbase that always thinks the team is heading in the right direction... like it looks to me like you're the one coming at everything from a superiority complex masked in martyrdom of standing up to the imaginary homers.

The other guy is right to ask what you're even talking about... whomever the Hawks selected 2nd overall has no implication on whether they are in the basement right now during the 2024-25 season, this isn't Caleb Williams vs. Jadyen Daniels which you brought up for some random reason (does the Bears pick at QB have anything to do with the Blackhawks pick?). Nobody available at the 2nd overall pick, whether it's Levshunov, Demidov, Sennecke, Lindstrom or anyone else, is making an impact on the 2024-25 NHL Season, so all anyone is doing is wondering about the impact on future seasons, which is obviously to be determined, so bringing that up is a... cheap shot I guess... at best

This is an Artyom Levshunov thread. You have people in here who’s only contributions are Davidson should be fired and he should have picked Demidov and Demidov is so much better.

Like nothing but pessimism, despite everyone who’s actually watched him play saying he looks pretty damn good. When is enough enough? You wanna bitch about Davidson that bad, go post in the GM thread.

One thing I rarely see mentioned is that Lev hasn't played in the same league in consecutive years since 2020-21 and the 2021-22 seasons.

With him being comfortable with the league, coaches, and just general quality of life I could see him exploding next year in the AHL.

Just in time for his NHL call up LOL

go figure... but its okay to debate the lineup construction of a terrible last place team all day and what bum should play where but if you question how they spent a 2nd overall pick then thats completely off the table
Are you debating or are you declaring that Levshunov was unequivocally the wrong pick, and that Davidson must be fired for it?

As @Hawkaholic posted, Demidov could be everything these fantasy projections claim him to be, and the Hawks could still be better off with Levshunov.

Demidov being a star offensive winger does not immediately mean he was 100% the guy who should’ve been picked.

You seem to be ignoring the merit of that side of the argument and instead default to people are trying to shut you down. Your opinion isn’t consensus, it’s a bit contrarian. That doesn’t make you wrong, but at the same time it doesn’t make you right.

There’s 100% a scenario where passing on Demidov will look awful, there’s also a scenario where Levshunov leads a championship level defense. There’s another scenario where neither guy lives up to their draft slot.

None of us know how this will play out for sure, but you’re posting like you’ve already seen 20 years into the future and know exactly how this will play out.

There’s merit and a sensible rationale to the Hawks taking Levshunov, you just seem to be dismissing that and getting mad at people who see that side of the coin. And in return, they get mad at you so you feel like you’re being punished for having a dissenting opinion, but really it’s just your approach that people don’t like.

I haven’t been around here a lot lately, but your posting style seems different from what I remember a few years ago.

my initial response was in regard to OP dismissing Bader and his tweet/model, and then it went on from there, I said why ignore what the data says about Demidov projecting as a really really good prospect and perhaps the better pick at this time, again I was simply asking the question why dismiss the data, because its not in favor of the prospect the Hawks selected?
