Wally is a gem man. What a good guy and he puts in so much work.

I think Lev is probably our PP QB of the future btw. His poise with the puck and ability to get shots through are just beyond what Korch has shown me.
I’m assuming he’s playing much better than what the stat sheet is showing?

Rockford kinda sucks so it's hard to say what works better. When Korch is putting up points there it's literally his gamesmanship doing the heavy lifting and he's been the guy on many shifts that I've watched which is still the minority. Korch is less predictable.

Lev is more like one of those guys who you know what they're gonna do and even though it's predictable they keep succeeding at it.

Personally, I think Korch's playmaking in the AHL has been pretty impressive given how mediocre and inconsistent the forward corps is in all zones. If he's behind players who own the game we'd get a better indication of his ceiling because he does a lot of killer things with no results.

sounded Like Arty had a few games this weekend when he looked better. that was just what I got from some twitter posts. did anybody watch?

I’ve been pleased with how he’s looked. You can definitely tell he’s learning and has made strides. Much more engaged in his own zone.

People who point watch will say he’s struggling but I would push back on that. The points will come if he keeps up the good habits. Next year will be a big year for him in Rockford.

I will say that the Hawks absolutely made the right call with Rockford v NCAA.

I was big on him on draft night. I would have thought he would have played better in Rockford this year / as I thought he was more physically developed than most D+ 1 players… Time will tell….

He’s only allowed to slide once on his ELC as he is a late b-day… His metre on his 3 year ELC will start ticking in 25/26.

Trade for Kuzmin AHL D-man (WPG Jet) a fellow Belarus 🇧🇾 player was interesting 🧐….

Correct, this is basically a free year, a development year so to speak because his ELC slides. Nice little win-win where you can get a guy into the system playing pro level hockey against a lot of fringe/borderline NHL types but not have to burn a year.

He should be in the AHL next year as well. The physical tools are certainly but I don't think this season is all that surprising. He's about what I predicted where after 20 games or so he's settled into being a pretty good AHL defenseman. It's been a big journey for him from Belarus to USHL to NCAA to AHL all over the last four seasons, so he can still sometimes be a bit raw in terms of how it all comes together. I think some stability in playing at the same level for a second year will help him out a lot.

He’s been pretty solid down there.

This doesn’t burn a year on his deal ?

It’s almost better that it would. If he was down next year and only played in the NHL that third year he wouldn’t get a big second deal and we might be able to Vlasic him on that one

there is you tube with all his shifts from a game in Jan. the couple things that jump out at me:
He shots the puck alot-Good
he does not seem to have much structure to his game on were he is on the ice. Kind of just freelances all over the Ice-bad
does not seem to skate hard to get back into the DEF zone-really bad

Certainly, leaves a lot to be desired at this point

Outside of willingness to shoot the puck what exactly is there to praise at this point? He has been a disappointment, and no one can honestly argue otherwise

It's still early but its concerning how little he has shown to justify the use of #2 overall pick and passing up of other talents such as Demidov

they took Seth Jones over Kucherov

-The AHL is a better league than the KHL
-Levshunov is one of the five youngest players in the AHL
-Defensemen take years to develop.
-Demidov is not doing anything new or exciting that he did not do last year.
-You already have Demidov at home, his name is Kantserov.
-Levshunov continues to be second in the AHL in D Shots (again... as one of the youngest players in the elague).
-1st in D shots has 13 goals, 3rd has 10 goals. Levshunov has 2. Positive regression incoming.

Demidov projects to be a 100 point type winger so they better hope Levshunov is a Norris type defenseman to justify what they did...and if they go Demidov 2 they probably get the 5th pick from MTL and take Levshunov which is what they wanted to do that draft landing both of them, they just fell in love with Levshunov to not risk losing him

I thought talk was that Anaheim highly valued Levshunov too. He might of been their pick still and not Sennecke

Why does Demidov get the benefit of the doubt in your paragraph and Levshunov doesn’t. You can just say “Demidov projects to be a 100 point winger and Levshunov projects to be a Norris type defender”.

They tried to get Demidov too everyone needs to get over it. Two other teams also passed on him. The negative PR hawks fans are buying from bitter haters who were our B*^ch their whole lives have a firm grasp on a lot of Hawks fans.

“Demidov better be a 100 point winger because Levshunov is projected to be a Norris caliber defender” an equally valid sentence.

Is Levshunov even #1 in his own class right now if you put up a poll on the mainboards? because I've seen people say Zeev has been awesome and Dickenson

Have you watched Lev? Because from people on here and media members, Lev has actually been pretty good for a 19 year old in the AHL. Now if all you do is stat line watch, then sure, not that impressive. But defensemen develop differently than forwards. Who though Vlasic becomes what he did, not a guy who lit up the AHL.
