-excellent goaltending for the USA
-8 minor penalties for Canada and most of them deserved--lack of discipline
-a lot of chances but couldn't really snipe them
-very strong USA power play
-that extra man attack looked a little disorganized.
-definitely one of the lesser talented Canadian teams that I have seen
-Akey should have seen more playing time

The Catton-McKenna line looked good today and should have scored three goals. Cowan is a really unlikable player and I can’t believe he didn’t even get benched for a shift after that dumb penalty cost any chance of a comeback. Fitting he was the one who carelessly threw the puck in front of the open net to end it.

There actually were some positives for Canada but so many of the penalties were just dumb and selfish plays.

Just blatantly giving points away to McMozes/Leonard in that moment. I can’t disown him quickly enough.

Ya got me. :DI guess he has a decent resume, and to be fair, he still has time to turn this around, so we'll see.
I think he has done terrible this tourney. If he had a say in player selection, he screwed up. It wasn't that hard to get to the gold medal game for HC that long ago.

Fellas I asked this in wjc convo on mains but got no response.
If it dosent belong here mods please moved to appropriate thread.

B Akey has looked more than ok in his extremely limited ice time. As someone who hasn't followed prospects a lot this year I'm wondering why he hasn't had a regular rotation since Shaefer went down.
Cameron? Skill? Politics?

Of course I'm bias but my neutral glasses show a d man who skates and moves puck very well with an above average first pass. Am I out to lunch?

But you read all my posts in the prospect thread. If likes were money you'd be my #1 fan.

It appears to be a combination of handedness and coach's preference. He's looked fine in his limited minutes.

I didn't feel good about it when it was happening but boy did I have a poor draft. Team Canada in crisis again, my Swedes are second tier, and my blueline giving me blue pucks... or couldn't give a puck... whichever euphemism you prefer.

Go Latvia! 4-0 turns into 3-2 after a goal called back.

I lost respect for Swedish hockey way back when the mens coach said publicly that they'd have a better chance if they lost their next game, which happened and then they won gold.
