Top 4 RHDs are the hardest position to fill, and Pionk is without a doubt our best. Remember our D core when Trouba was traded, Buff retired, and Myers walked? It would be like that again with DeMelo-Miller-Salo down the right, with nothing in the pipeline. Pionk really seems to like Winnipeg, he gels with Samberg, why not pay the price?

Yeah, I've been to places in the U.S. that are as bad as Winnipeg but civilized/paved Florida is not among them. Though the likelihood of a fatal disease being vectored in Winnipeg is considerably less than in Florida, so from that perspective the 1000s of bites in Winnipeg present more annoyance but less lethality.

Columbus really screwed up their end of the trade by putting themselves in a bad financial position. A good rental usually gets a 1st. Considering he has another year, it's more than fair IMO.

I just dont think he moves the needle for where the team is at right now. A 24 year old thats still trying to find his game with zero playoff experience. Just not what Chevy is looking for IMO.

Same dude, I have had that feeling for a while and whilst not really something you would think Chevy would do before the TDL it does make sense, kid is young, still has high ceiling, will fill our 2C slot for a long time if risk pays off and on top of that has no trade protection.

Nelson I believe is going elsewhere.

He's a summer type deal imo. That way you have tc and the entire year to integrate him. It doesn't make sense for a playoff run.

Those Florida mosquitoes are surprisingly wimpy too. Tiny, frail Heinola mosquitoes, as opposed to the Byfuglien like mosquitoes we get here. Winnipeg's had a pretty good run when it comes to mosquitoes over the last decade, though...nowhere near as bad as it was in the 90s and before.
