Buffalo Bills The offseason begins

The offense has not failed this team in the post-season. We should not lose focus on what needs the most attention - the defense.

You can prioritize the Defense while also improving your offense. We all know what we need. Another weapon for JA. I don’t think we need a Metcalf though. I think all 3 of Samuels, Kincaid and Coleman will have better production next year.

Re-sign Hollins and Draft a burner at WR this draft. If possible, draft a heavy RB that rounds downfield too.

Joey Bosa released by the Chargers. Dunno if he has anything left. Definitely a sub par year last year.

He’s cooked. Too many injuries. Missed over a month with a Groin tear in 22. Sprained right foot kept him out the following year after week 11. Had lumbar pain and hip issues this past season. Bosa is such a likable player but his body has been through a meat grinder. He had concussion and neck issues too years ago if I recall correctly.

I’d bring him on on a 1 year contract at Pennies of a contract for passing downs. A specialist. Don’t think that’ll be an option though. Some dumbass GM will pay him.

I wouldn't classify Bosa as a likeable guy

Bosa is the Jaire Alexander of DEs for me.

I like the talent, but he can't stay healthy. As such, I would not want the Bills to count on him in 2025.

Pass on giving up a 1+3 for him.

Pass on giving him the Brandon Aiyuk contract:

I'd give them a 2nd this year and a 2nd next year that could become a 1st if we make it to the Super Bowl.

Not giving up this year's first. Seems like what we need and what will be on the board match up too well.

The trade market for WRs is not to that level.

Especially if he wants the Aiyuk extension at $30M per.

I think a 2025 2nd is an overpay.

Oh, I'd love to snag him, but not sure we can afford him after trading for Garrett :p

On the real, I'd pass on trading a 1st round pick for anything other than an impact player on the line. We do need a WR, and Metcalf would be a perfect fit, but the assets + cap hit he's seeking is an easy pass for me.

The challenge there is that I could see it play out where there is no real trade options for an impact DE.

Maxx Crosby is off the market after his extension in Vegas.

I expect Cleveland to play hardball with Garrett and not move him unless it gets to Reddick vs the Jets levels of holdout.

The only other rumored option out there is Trey Hendrickson. And I would be stunned if the Bengals traded him to an AFC contender.

Personally, I would approach things similar to Joe Marino's mock offseason posted above.

Try and address most of the needs in FA and the draft. Then I would try and circle back on a Garrett trade post-6/1 when Cleveland would be able to split the massive dead cap between 2025 & 2026 and the Bills can offer up future picks.

I think the Diggs trade is a good comparable for Metcalf. Diggs was probably worth a bit more TBH.

Agreed. DK is a beast and still young enough. He's not AJ brown though for trade value.

I'd move one of he 2nd rounders for DK and a 5th. That would be my starting offer if they are starting at a 1st and a 3rd.

That's all unlikely though with our needs on the D side of the ball.

If the DK trade was actually getting fairly close, if I were Beane I'd go to Josh and say look, DK is willing to come here and take 26M, which is undervalued, but we need you to stay in your current contract, no renewal to make you the highest paid QB. See if Josh will stay in a truly team friendly deal.

With the revenue Josh can bring in as MVP, his new ventures he has that was just reported, he can get plenty of revenue off the field. Brady was almost always underpaid.

As flashy as that all sounds, I'd rather make a move for Garrett if it was available.

For those that liked Atwell, he's off the market.

I could be wrong but I think they have their starting Safety's for 2025 in Rapp/Bishop.
I would expect a Mike Edwards type depth singing and a draft pick.
Here are the challenges:

A) Rapp and Bishop have issues staying healthy
B) They are banking on a Bernard & Williams level year 2 improvement from Bishop because he was not great in 2024

They need a 3rd safety that is on par with Rapp and Bishop, if not better, entering the season because of those two things.

But, I expect the draft to be the most likely place where they make that addition.
