can't see STL trading Robert Thomas just yet. I can see them entertaining offers on Kyrou as his NTC kicks in this off-season.

Yup, teams don't trade number 1 centers in their mid 20's unless they demand out.

They trade him and they will have a hell of a time replacing him.

We could put together a hell of an offer but they still probably turn it down. We would be giving them quantity for quality. And if we make it that good, we probably struggle to build around him.

Realistically, what would it cost to get Thomas?
Blues look more like retooling than rebuilding so Thomas would be a key part for them.

25 1st + 26 1st + Lambert + Barlow? Probably still not enough. And too futures oriented. Take out the 26 1st and Lambert and put in Perfetti.
There is no realistic cost. He is a 25 y/o PPG #1 center in year 2 of an 8 year team friendly contract. We have no one that matches that value except maybe Morrissey. A bunch of futures doesn't even get a GM answering the phone.

Thomas there is zero chance he is getting traded, he is their #1 centre, best asset, and a 25 year old that they will build the team around IMO.

Kyro who knows for sure but that $8.25 AAV for a guy that is struggling this season might be the player Doug Armstrong is talking about when he is discussing that the top guys need to step up. To me Armstrong does not seem like a patient guy so I am not sure if he would do a blockbuster pre NTC. It does define the window and when it closes.

I don’t know though with Schenn Sunsetting we all know how hard it is to fill that #2 centre role so I would still be surprised if they trade Caillou

Yup. He's their best player and chief building piece. He's essentially their Scheifele. He's not available.

Thomas is their Schiefele but 6 years ago when Scheifele was 25 and just beginning his prime years run . Other teams aren’t trying to solve our problems, we are the enemy, he is pretty much as untouchable as assets get.

Caillou!!!

I still like Sissons out of Nashville He's going nowhere there.

I'd put him on a line with Lowry and Nino, and keep the 4th line as an energy line Barron-Kupari-Iafallo. Appleton in the PB to start.

Then have Sissons start on the PK with Lowry, Barron and Iafallo as #2, and Namestnikov/Connor as #3.

55.8% on the draw for a defensive zone player is something that would appeal to me.

I wonder if the stats guys can dig in a bit, concerning our PK because it seems like the majority of the goals are 2nd unit. First unit is great. But the personnel on the 2nd unit could use some changes, whether it be Stanley or the forwards up front.

Clearly Chevy is trying to bring in the Schenn brothers.
I think the team looking to bring in both Schenns is the Maple Leafs.

Berube has history with Brayden and Luke has been a Leaf on a few occasions. They play the style BT and CB want.

It’s a move I see the Leafs doing before the Jets. I hope they do better deals, though I’m sure B Schenn would be high on Chevy’s wish list. But a Stanley/L Schenn 3rd pairing would be an adventure every shift they play in playoffs.

and how are the leafs going to make the cap work?

That's one way to get depth, toughness in one trade. Schenn brothers is another animal. That involves NTCs.
it's a horrible trade for the jets lol... and it doesn't even accomplish what I even asked... how do the leafs make the cap work?

I'd like to have Reaves here so Lowry doesn't have to fight. And Stanley doesn't have to dress. End of his career in a Jets uni.

Dewar is a good PKer. Kind of a Barron like player. Can play center.

Timmins is probably better for the playoffs than Heinola. Behind Colin Miller.

That's $3.5 million in Cap space.

The rest if I would guess would come from some unforeseen LTIR.

reaves is awful
dewar is awful
timmins is awful

none would be a regular for the jets, I think even the people that hate stanely the most would rather have him in the lineup then reaves lol...

"The rest if I would guess would come from some unforeseen LTIR." if you have to post a line like that it should tell you that a deal is not going to get done...

Reaves doesn't even fight anymore and he certainly can't play hockey, might as well just get Frederic if we want a fighter who can play.

I don't know that I'd really classify Kyrou as struggling. He's pacing 30 plus goals and 65 points this year. Pretty much what he did last year.

Still hits though when he does play. Getting near the end but he's been on some teams that have gone a long way. I think that he would take the tap if a game or a series got out of hand, the Jets don't really have that guy. Built on speed.

Jordan Greenway was mentioned by someone here as big tough player who can play. He's UFA but with the 8 team NTC.

Frederic is a puke to me.

Reaves is basically just a warm body at this point, he might still lay the odd hit here and there but that's about it, waste of a roster spot imo.

Greenway is a big boy though and yeah very tough who can play, I wouldn't be against that.
