can't see STL trading Robert Thomas just yet. I can see them entertaining offers on Kyrou as his NTC kicks in this off-season.

I saw a player last night that I would love to have on the Jets and it's not Schenn, Robert Thomas is exactly the player you trade for if you want to make a huge move but it would be costly. NTC comes into effect next year and is signed long term
And why in the hell do the Blues trade him?

Yup, teams don't trade number 1 centers in their mid 20's unless they demand out.

They trade him and they will have a hell of a time replacing him.

We could put together a hell of an offer but they still probably turn it down. We would be giving them quantity for quality. And if we make it that good, we probably struggle to build around him.

Realistically, what would it cost to get Thomas?
Blues look more like retooling than rebuilding so Thomas would be a key part for them.

25 1st + 26 1st + Lambert + Barlow? Probably still not enough. And too futures oriented. Take out the 26 1st and Lambert and put in Perfetti.
There is no realistic cost. He is a 25 y/o PPG #1 center in year 2 of an 8 year team friendly contract. We have no one that matches that value except maybe Morrissey. A bunch of futures doesn't even get a GM answering the phone.

Thomas there is zero chance he is getting traded, he is their #1 centre, best asset, and a 25 year old that they will build the team around IMO.

Kyro who knows for sure but that $8.25 AAV for a guy that is struggling this season might be the player Doug Armstrong is talking about when he is discussing that the top guys need to step up. To me Armstrong does not seem like a patient guy so I am not sure if he would do a blockbuster pre NTC. It does define the window and when it closes.

I don’t know though with Schenn Sunsetting we all know how hard it is to fill that #2 centre role so I would still be surprised if they trade Caillou

Yup. He's their best player and chief building piece. He's essentially their Scheifele. He's not available.

Thomas is their Schiefele but 6 years ago when Scheifele was 25 and just beginning his prime years run . Other teams aren’t trying to solve our problems, we are the enemy, he is pretty much as untouchable as assets get.

Caillou!!!

I still like Sissons out of Nashville He's going nowhere there.

I'd put him on a line with Lowry and Nino, and keep the 4th line as an energy line Barron-Kupari-Iafallo. Appleton in the PB to start.

Then have Sissons start on the PK with Lowry, Barron and Iafallo as #2, and Namestnikov/Connor as #3.

55.8% on the draw for a defensive zone player is something that would appeal to me.

I wonder if the stats guys can dig in a bit, concerning our PK because it seems like the majority of the goals are 2nd unit. First unit is great. But the personnel on the 2nd unit could use some changes, whether it be Stanley or the forwards up front.
