Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. I mean it's a short tournament small sample size but yeah... Some questionable choices from Parayko that's for sure.
Agreed, I was on board with sending over a monstrous package for him but I have not been impressed. I think DeMelo may be a better defenseman.
I think Gil has the right idea with a Dumoulin tier add to shore up the third pairing. My prediction is we flip Heinola 1 for 1 for an upgrade there to avoid messing with waivers.
I think Parayko's stats reflect what he is and what he isn't. He is really good defensively and has size and skating to handle big forwards.
He does not have skill to drive offense, he is a meat and potatoes guy. Dump the puck into the corner, off the glass and out, just fire it on net, etc.
DeMelo absolutely a higher IQ guy. He isn't 6'5 with reach, great skating and strength.
This tournament is exposing flaws of guys who are bona fide top line players. Parayko is in that bucket with a lot of Canadians.
Bennett is a dog. But I doubt the defending champs are dealing him to the peg lol

Sam Bennett or McCann would be my two top targets to fill our top need imo at centre. Third target would be Brock Nelson, small concern about his age and foot speed. My fourth target would be B Schenn would have same comments as Brock does above.
3rd pairing LHD multi targets out there available better then Stanley so they should be cheap enough to get. RHD seems good enough to me, much sooner upgrade centre and 3LHD.

Why would the Panthers even think about trading Bennett. They are defending their Cup and he's a core player.
I think there is a relatively small group of players that might be available to the Jets and would be worth acquiring.

Throwing around trades is a great way to pass time on this board especially with the season on hold but realistically 99% of the players mentioned are not being traded to Winnipeg. Would love a 2C with term but that's a trade for the off season. In all likely hood Chevy will pick up a few depth pieces as rentals, hopefully he does better this time around.

I'd do Carlo + Frederic for our 1st, 3rd, and Heinola. Not a crazy upgrade or change to the existing roster and chemistry, but a ton of additional size and toughness that I feel like we're lacking a bit.

With the current animosity between the US and Canada I wonder if it might be even more difficult to persuade American players to waive their NTC to come to Winnipeg, except for maybe one Spring playoff run.
