Fetti has been producing a lot lately.
He's been playing quite well for a while now but imo it takes a 1st line forward to gwt the conversation started for Dobson and Cole isn't a first line forward just yet.

Rangers moved Zibanejad to wing. With Miller and Panarin as their top line. They might stick with that. Brodzinski is their 3rd line center since Miller trade. So I see them making a move. Maybe Zegras or Cozens, they have Cap space. And Gabe Perreault as a prospect.I could see him wanting to go there but they also don't have a 1st and hardly any cap space to make a deal, lebrun listed wild/jets/stars/leafs after people being interested, rangers already traded a 1st and have miller trochek and zib they can run down the middle, devils are looking for more of a 3c then a 2c
also it doesn't even have to be nelson they use a 1st on, it just has to be a deal that makes sense
If it was 1 for 1, but, as part of a future package. He's been playing quite well for a while now but imo it takes a 1st line forward to gwt the conversation started for Dobson and Cole isn't a first line forward just yet.
I like his compete level. Even the comments after the Tage hit and how he was hoping to be on the ice. Not that you want him dropping the gloves all the time, but that firey-ness would be a really nice addition.I will say this
It won't shock me to see them make a move for Cozens. I think its going to come down to price and I wouldn't be surprised if its a bigger deal.
I think they believe the time is now and bringing in guys under contract is something they would prefer. I believe they think they could help him find himself again as well

I dunno. As has been noted, Perfetti has been playing better of late. He's been playing quite well for a while now but imo it takes a 1st line forward to gwt the conversation started for Dobson and Cole isn't a first line forward just yet.
You know what. I actually really like the idea of Seth Jones after thinking about it. The Hawks actually have respectable special teams and he's a big part of both units having the second most PK minutes per game among dmen.
So he'd be able to come in and play and contribute on both units. He's got size , great mobility and can retrieve and break out the puck. So he'd really help the bottom pairing tilt the ice or free up DeMelo to play there if he's a fir with JoMo.
He's actually the multi tool dmen that I've wanted. I also doubt he costs an arm and a leg either even with the necessary retention. Doubt he'd waive to come here though.
I think you sell Dobson's defense far too short. He's a fair bit better then Pionk.
They'd probably have to add to get Connor, but, I can see how that would make us a better team in the future. The trade-off from KC to Ehlers is less than it would be from Dobson to Demelo. If he came with an extension, sure. But I think other teams can offer more. Plus I doubt the NYI want futures. They are built to win now with most of their core inked long term. They will want high quality now pieces. They as a team really need goal scoring which is why my guess is they'd want Connor. They have playmaking and two way play with Barzal and Horvat so Cole might be a bit redundant in their top 6.
To Vancouver again? Juulsen can't be a popular player over there.Canucks traded defenseman Mark Friedman to Preds for future considerations.
Could Luke Schenn be traded this weekend?
I don't see the Jets trading Pionk. That's fan bias. And probably a core locker room player. As our legit #2 in minutes.
If I was trading for Dobson it would be 1st, Chibrikov, Rashevsky, a couple of Ruskies for the Isles future. 1st is a tradeable asset to improve.
De Melo on 3rd pairing would stabilize that pairing.
Just seems too big of a move for Chevy to make.
I agree. Strikes me more of an offseason type of deal.Perfetti + for Dobson would be great in the offseason. I don't think we can afford to shake things up that much in-season while we're king of the hill.
OK, but then why are Isles fans so down on him? Just disappointed in his scoring this year after 70 pts last year? If he is that good 2 ways I would try a lot harder to get him. Not Connor or Vilardi though.
I dunno. As has been noted, Perfetti has been playing better of late.
Plus he also has a nice short haircut and no facial hair so that probably gives him extra points in Lou's player evaluation book...
You are probably right that it is unlikely. I would hesitate to trade Pionk for several reasons. I am still a little skeptical of him playing so well in a contract year. We've seen that play before. But I certainly like his play this year. Maybe it is health, not contract year. He is a fit in the room and with Snerg. And he seems to like it here.
But if Dobson is as good as some say and we could extend him, we could afford to move Pionk. The logic from NYI's POV looks good to me. Fill the hole created and upgrade their team elsewhere.
I don't think your offer gets it done. Late 1st, Chibrikov is not on the level they will want, Rashevsky doesn't have a lot of value.
I wish we had a stronger feel for what Ehlers is going to do. If he is going to stay, it is much easier to move a Perfetti. If he is going to leave, maybe we can work a sign and trade for a good return. Like Dobson. As it is we shouldn't be trading either Perfetti or Chibrikov. Too much chance of needing both.
I hope Chevy gets Ehlers signed during this 4 nations break, now that he knows the projected cap.
The other factor is that we have no clue what Gabe wants to do. He came from California with a California girlfriend. While he's had some amazing success here and I'd hope he'd want to commit long term I don't think we should take it as a given.
In the excitement of this fantastic Jets season we seem to be forgetting the future a bit.
We still have 6 pending UFAs, 3 of them key players and 2 more who will be missed if they walk. Plus we have 5 RFAs, 2 of them key players and 2 more who are important to our bottom 6. Even ignoring the 11 man total and just focusing on the key players it is potentially a huge roster transition.
It has been mentioned here that Chevy might be waiting on PO performance before deciding what to offer Ehlers. It is also possible that players are waiting to see PO performance before deciding on their ask. If we win the Cup, all of those 11 players will have stronger bargaining positions. And of course, their agents now know the cap estimate for next year.
Well firstly Gabe is an RFA so he can't walk anywhere, he will most likely be re-signed one way or another, Ehlers is our only concern and then of course KFC after next season, Vlad whilst in the top 6 is not really high priority.Yup. Four of our top 6 forwards can walk via FA this summer or next. I think we are getting ahead of ourselves in terms of making any of our marquee young talent upfront available. It is very possible we may not be able to afford to deal a Perfetti or top forward prospect if we can't get commitments out of theblikes of KC, Fly and Gabe.

It'd be some weird luck if Gabe was the 3rd in a chain of skilled players who didn't want to sign in Winnipeg long term, but every trade seems like a step up from the last guy, so...I said this summer or next. KC and Gabe can walk as soon as summer 2026.
My expectations are that Gabe and KC sign but but I'm not going to take it for granted. Either or both could elect to move on for whatever reason.
I think Gabe signs long term, don't really have much concern there, he likes it here and is getting top minutes, it would surprise me if he wanted out and the same with KC really, but yeah I suppose nothing is set in stone.I said this summer or next. KC and Gabe can walk as soon as summer 2026.

Ehlers is my biggest worry right now but even then I can see them getting a deal done.
Schenn seems done... i think id passI believe it's been speculated on this board that the Jets would be very interested in Brayden Schenn if he were to be available.
IMO, he is exactly what we would be looking for as a 2C option for the next couple of years. 3 more years at $6.5M/yr cap hit. That allows Yager to marinate in the AHL for a least a year before moving up the ranks on the Jets the next couple of years to take over that role.
Schenn is a 200 ft physical player that can score at a 50-60 pt pace and could be a very nice complement to both Ehlers and Perfetti - Lowry with better finish.
Now if the Jets could grab both Parayko and B Schenn from the Blues for a package that includes - Pionk (new deal pending), Lambert and a 1st would that get it done?
Yeah that one is a concern, I recall she was complaining about the weather and shit already LOL, she might be nagging Gabe to GTFO hahaha. It seems like Gabe likes it here...
What about his SoCal social media influencer girlfriend though?
