Classic trumpesque negotiation tactic. Also, I seriously
Didn't their GM come out and say they wouldn't be trading any of their top 6?

Do you have anyone in mind? Those are tough to come byIf we can only have 1, I go for the Dman.
I've been pushing the idea of a top 4 RHD for years. A 2 way guy with size who could push Pionk out or DeMelo down. But both are playing so well this year it is not the need it used to be. I'd still like to get a better partner for JMo but the pair of him and DeMelo is working. So I would settle for a solid upgrade on the 3rd pair, either L or R.
A RHD who was good enough defensively and also big and physical would fill the need for size that keeps Stan in the lineup. It would free the options of Heinola and Fleury. Or, the other way, get a good, big, mobile LHD who pushes Stan into the PB.
I think that is the best way 1 player could improve the Jets without disrupting what we have.
yup that's been the speculation for years.Boeser also has some ties to Jets management and apparently a good relationship, they wanted to draft him before getting KFC and definitely would have with their next pick but the Nucks picked him up, it could be a possibility, but then we really need to try Gabe as 2C, run Ehlers top line and then have Fetts/Gabe/Boeser.
Only guys saying ehlers would be traded is the perfetti fanclub and the anti stats nerdsmaybe this will put to rest the ehlers getting traded speculation
The risto deal made sense if you goYeah I don't get it either. We're paying a previously similar cap hit player in Schmidt to not play here for a couple years, but let's go get 5m+ Risto to play third pair? So we're back to where we are last year for cap expenditure.
And if it's to cushion a Pionk departure I really hope they go an alternate route than Risto.
Luke Schenn 6"2" 225 lbs RH ....$2.75 M ... 1 year left after this seasonDo you have anyone in mind? Those are tough to come by
what is the incremental upside in scoring lowry at 2c vs namestnikov really? Can't forget about the Lowry 2C experiment that put up great numbers, albeit in a small sample size. I think when Lowry is healthy and returns to the lineup if they put him back on 2C it will signal that we're more likely to work with what we have and look at the blueline for an upgrade. But who knows. Although Nik looked better when he played with Adam, breaking up the shutdown line might not be the best idea.
this makes even less senseThe risto deal made sense if you go
Jomo-demelo
Samberg-risto
Miller-pionk
But its very clear that stan has to be on the roster so fk it...
Miller's numbers have always been good-very good in sheltered minutes & that's continued in Winnipeg. I'm fine with our present right side. The risto deal made sense if you go

He'd be a good pick up. Also on the right side would be Radko Gudas. 4m after this season and the guy is actually a good defenceman on top of being extremely physical.Luke Schenn 6"2" 225 lbs RH ....$2.75 M ... 1 year left after this season
Id take Oleksiak 100x over Risto and put oleksiak on our top pairing... i just dont think hes in play - whats the incentive for seattle?Miller's numbers have always been good-very good in sheltered minutes & that's continued in Winnipeg. I'm fine with our present right side.
With that said, many have questioned usage after acquisition last season & this has continued with what have been apparent healthy scratches several times this season. One has to wonder if he's dealing with something, because he's clearly played his way as the best option at RD3.
Assuming he's fine & Chevy just wants an upgrade on the bottom pairing rather than overhauling the top 4, I'd suggest the the best target be at LD3 & certainly throwing 2 RHD on the same pairing. Jet's at noon were suggesting "getting a Logan Stanley would can play" & chasing 6'7" Jamie Oleksiak who was added to Seravelli's top 10 trade targets today.
Not taking issue with anything important, just wanted to note that Perfetti scores 5v5 comfortably in the second line forward tier, right there with Bennett, Rossi, Marchenko, Huberdeau, etc.what is the incremental upside in scoring lowry at 2c vs namestnikov really?
according to moneypuck:
ehlers-lowry-iafallo were 2GF 1GA (2.5 GF/60)
ehlers-namestnikov-perfetti are 17GF 8GA (2.8 GF/60), & that's w/ Perfetti who can barely put the puck in the net at 5v5.
