Speculation: 2024/25 Trade Rumours, Speculation etc Thread

Short term the Flames got players that will help them with a playoff spot, I don't know how Kuzmenko scored 39 goals in 22/23 but he hasn't come close to that production and hasn't come close to playing 81 games
Pelletier is also a guy that recently cleared wavers back in December. Not even getting a 1st rounder back makes it a fleecing. WTF is Briere doing?

I don't know where he might fit in this seasons playoff run without an injury, but I'm liking Gus more and more on the 4th line. I think it's extremely likely that IA is gone this summer, and depending on the ask and where the Jets think they might need the $, I could see Apples pricing himself out too. Gus is looking like he could be a solid 4th line guy who also takes some minutes on the PK.

I think Appleton is gone after this season. Havent been impressed with his play since he's been back from injury. A guy like Ford could replace him at a much lower cap hit.

Kyle Connor will make so much money on his next contract he'll never have to worry about paying for KFC ever again

So the cap floor will be higher than the cap was when Winnipeg joined the league...

This is going to be an issue for Canadian teams as remember that cap is in US dollars.

Cap in today's CDN dollars:

2025-26 : $137.58M
2026-27 : $149.83M
2027-28 : $163.51M

For the Jets it doesn't matter what the NHL says the cap is, it's what the Jets can really afford and what the ticket buyers can afford.
