That settles it - lets trade for himMcDavid plays fast WITH skill. Kupari is mostly fast.
we definitely have the prospect pool for himThat settles it - lets trade for him
Id start by offering lucius and heinolawe definitely have the prospect pool for him
it implies that he wants out and the team is in rebuild and that he has leverage as to which team he goes to and he himself is win now mode…when somebody says we don't have the prospects to get quinn hughes and one of your counter arguments is "he wants out and doesn't want to be in a rebuild" what do you think that implies?
it doesn't matter if you didn't name the prospects, we know who our top prospects are and none of them are good enough to be the center piece of a quinn hughes deal and vancouver isn't going to accept a package of prospects who rate as middle of the line up players if they even end up making it
anyways I'm done with this useless conversation, if you think we have the prospects to pull this off it shouldn't be hard to come up with an actual offer that you can go post on the main boards to gage the response
Dad Shawn was born in Neepawa. If I remember correctly, still has family in the area. What are his mb connections?
I guess I lied when I said I wouldn't respond, quinn hughes doesn't have trade protection, he can ask for a trade but has zero leverage on which team he goes too.it implies that he wants out and the team is in rebuild and that he has leverage as to which team he goes to and he himself is win now mode…
so it’s POSSIBLE the right package on a contending team like the jets, who are already looking for a top 4 D …. could make a package to get a player who is rumoured wants out of a team that is imploding and looking at a rebuild…..
wow how dumb am i!
and since i never even got to make or discuss a possible package…
il make one up… Samberg Perfetti He Lambett a first this year and our next two 2 seconds …
see i don’t know.., is that enough? too much? what does a package look like?
which is all i asked FFS
Thanks for informationDad Shawn was born in Neepawa. If I remember correctly, still has family in the area.
Yeah I think we're lucky if Connor's next deal starts with a 10 IMO. 4 nations and olympics are gonna be his coming out partyI think everyone is a little bit rose coloured glasses when it comes to what its going to take to retain all of our guys.
Pionk is realistically going to be in the 5-7 year range and 6.5M per year minimum (probably closer to something like 7 or 7.5M over 7 years).
Connor next year is going to be 9.5M per year at minimum as well and wouldnt be surprised to see him go as high as 10.5 or 11.
Ehlers should and will fall in at 8M per year minimum as well, and could go as high as 8.5 or 9.
Vilardi is still an RFA year but I can't see how he signs a long term deal for an AAV that is less than beginning with a 7, but more likely also an 8.
All told though that shouldn't completely hamper our ability to make a big trade. If all of those numbers hit, its like adding about 10-12M onto our current payroll. 6M of that is covered by the buyouts coming off the books and at least another 4 or 5 minimum with the cap rising.
Replace Iafallo and Namestinikov with Iafallo for 2M and/or another young guy(s) (Chibrikov/Lambert/Kupari) and its not all doom and gloom cash strapped that some people think.
Hughes is terrific but why target him when you have Morrissey? It would reduce Morrissey's impact by moving him out of prime usage including on PP1.That's a deal you move Perfetti in as a base.
Perfetti+ Yager/Lambert + 1st 25 + Salomonsson + 2nd
for
Hughes
If you need another asset in there you do it. This year plus 2 more of
Morrisey-Demelo
Samberg - Hughes
Is SC caliber D. Move Hughes up with Morrosey when you need to take over a game.
and why would vancouver accept that?
What do you think would be a fair offer for Byram? With the lack of defensive depth on the left side, I think you'd easily give up this year's 1st, maybe next year's 2nd, and Heinola seems like a fair prospect exchange as someone the Jets have promoted mostly playing his offside, like Byram, for 2 contract years. Realistically with a player like Byram, Heinola would not hit the ice again this year, unless there were some injuries. It would move Stanley and Fleury potentially to 7-8 positions. What else would the Jets have to add?The appeal with Bo Byram is he could turn into the next Josh Morrissey. And he has Manitoba ties.
Josh and Bowen are both great skaters, offensively-minded, average size or below-average size dmen that can get a bit physical but at their size, they'll never be Scott Stevens-like hitters.
Similar numbers in their junior and NHL careers to start. Hope would be that Arniel and the coaches can turn him into the next Morrissey, which would be outstanding.

If the Jets spend a huge amount for an elite player it should be for a top forward for the 2nd line (C or a top W).
Not sure Buffalo wants futures for him. I think they would rather have a NHL player. What do you think would be a fair offer for Byram? I legit think the sabres or canadiens pull the trigger on petersson - their assets match much more than anyone elseNot sure Buffalo wants futures for him. I think they would rather have a NHL player.
Not sure Jets are a good trade match with Buffalo, even though Pagnota likes to link the two teams regularly.
Might be good with prospects if the Sabres are trying to cut costs on payroll. But then you hear them in on Pettersson, and I really have no idea what direction they are going. They have the only GM in the league who has hired 3 different coaches with 10 game losing streaks in his tenure. Not sure Buffalo wants futures for him. I think they would rather have a NHL player.

Is having two of the best defenseman in the league and bad thing?Hughes is terrific but why target him when you have Morrissey? It would reduce Morrissey's impact by moving him out of prime usage including on PP1.

Also not interested in RistoBeen watching Flyers highlights lately... and yeah I dont want anyone from that team besides Ersson - Risto is still just Tyler Myers lite
I like Perfetti, and I think he'd been a good player for the Jets. I'd also really love to see him succeed here.Would any one trade something around perfetti for Brandt Clarke?
Maybe a deal more geared toward the off-season.
If im LA i wouldnt make that dealWould any one trade something around perfetti for Brandt Clarke?
