I'd be into a Pionk extension at $5.5 million for 3 or 4 years.
I'm guessing this one is our division, but awesome nonethelessThe 4th, 5th and 6th best players in the conference (excluding goaltenders). (Dom's model via The Athletic.)
Edit: Gabe and Nicolaj are 16th and 17th and Dom's model says they're worth $8.5m and $8.4m p.a.

I think Trevor Linden was a stud from season one when he led a weak Canucks team to almost upset the Stanley Cup champions in the 1st round of 1989. Then he brought back the Canucks in game 7 of the Stanley Cup final with a SH goal and two goal game. I think of Brian Burke talking about how he missed his pre-draft testing because he was branding cows. The appeal with Cozens is he finally figures it out and plays like a modern-day Trevor Linden in the 1994 SC playoffs. Linden had a few good 70-80 pt seasons in his prime, in a different era, but Cozens has some development to do to get to that level consistently.
The balance of Linden's career was role playing production (nothing spectacular) which is the vibe I get from Cozens. At his peak, Cozens could be a 65-70 pt player with size, speed and some grit, but for most of his career he'll be a serviceable role player scoring 40 pts or less.
I'm not against trading for Cozens, though I for one have lower expectations as to what he turns into as a player.
yes. was thinking division and somehow typed conference.I'm guessing this one is our division, but awesome nonetheless
He is performing around his contract level this year which is a big plus. We needed him to step back up and he has. If the cost is reasonable I'm becoming more open to bringing him back
That's a deal you move Perfetti in as a base.we have nothing to offer vancouver for hughes and even if we did it would be highly unlikely he would sign here when his contract is up anyways
and why would vancouver accept that? That's a deal you move Perfetti in as a base.
Perfetti+ Yager/Lambert + 1st 25 + Salomonsson + 2nd
for
Hughes
If you need another asset in there you do it. This year plus 2 more of
Morrisey-Demelo
Samberg - Hughes
Is SC caliber D. Move Hughes up with Morrosey when you need to take over a game.
so...as I stated it's a Win Now, sell the future deal...Jets get 2 years of Cup Window top Dmanwe have nothing to offer vancouver for hughes and even if we did it would be highly unlikely he would sign here when his contract is up anyways
they will want high end prospects... we don't have those... my lord people love to overrate our prospects around here, we have nothing in the pipeline that would interest vancouver to trade us their captain who is in the running for the hart...so...as I stated it's a Win Now, sell the future deal...Jets get 2 years of Cup Window top Dman
and again.. Van is talking rebuild...they want futures. picks and prospects and ELC/RFA
they can't expect or probably eve need a "replacement" they need pieces to rebuild with....
1. I think you underestimate the value of our ELC/RFA groupthey will want high end prospects... we don't have those... my lord people love to overrate our prospects around here, we have nothing in the pipeline that would interest vancouver to trade us their captain who is in the running for the hart...
I think you underestimate how many teams can beat our best offer lol1. I think you underestimate the value of our ELC/RFA group
2. Picks picks and more picks
3....you get that he's basically said he wants out. the team is self destructing and it sounds like mgmt is already talking REBUILD right....
it's not whether they want oa trade...it's that they need a trade and the player wants out....
well I overestimated your ability to have a rational discussion ..on a hockey discussion board.....I think you underestimate how many teams can beat our best offer lol
Hughes would have no choice but come to Winnipeg, unless he intends to retire. He has no trade production.Lowry would be fine with another high scoring winger along with Ehlers, Tuch ain't happening though, he already said he doesn't want to move and their GM confirmed he wouldn't move him.
Yeah Hughes is never coming to Winnipeg, can forget even thinking about that.
Would love to see how he reached those results putting kiril above Mack.,The 4th, 5th and 6th best players in the division (excluding goaltenders). (Dom's model via The Athletic.)

Not sure if that’s correct. Pionk looks shorter than 6’.
lol... you're right... I'm being the irrational one, because hughes wants out and winnipeg has the best prospect pool that nobody else could possibly beat our offer... give me a f***ing breakwell I overestimated your ability to have a rational discussion ..on a hockey discussion board.....
You might get Pionk to bite on a slight raise which would put him at around $6 M, but I think it would have to be at least 5 years but probably 6.
The boys on Spittin Chicklets were raving about a guy like Scott Laughton as a great pickup at the deadline.I think you underestimate how many teams can beat our best offer lol
Could've sworn he had NTC, guess not.H

I pitched out Risto + Laughton a few pages back, but some guys here had analytics on Laughton that has given me some pause on that idea. Haven't seen him play much with my own eyes as he's been out eastThe boys on Spittin Chicklets were raving about a guy like Scott Laughton as a great pickup at the deadline.
His 23 ES points would put him behind only the top 3, Ehlers and Lowry on the Jets , his 107 hits would be higher than anyone else on the team, and his FO% is better than Vlad's., with a lot more d-zone reps. Also has better PK effectiveness. 2 years left on his contract.
For every top 6 player in the NHL identified by our board, I'm still not sure if Chevy isn't identifying middle 6 forwards.
Pionk's numbers matchup to guys like Hanifin at 7.35 , Montour at 7.15, and considerably better than guys in bottom end of the 6s like Brodin, Pulock or Severson. I think the number is somewhere in between there. I'd be really surprised if he doesn't get Hampus Lindholm's $6.5 miillion with the Cap going up. But we'll see.You might get Pionk to bite on a slight raise which would put him at around $6 M, but I think it would have to be at least 5 years but probably 6.
Are they looking at how many d-zone starts he gets. Because analytics don't favour those guys, they favour Ehlers types. I'd say Laughton fits the bill of being interchangeable in roles with Lowry in the middle six.I pitched out Risto + Laughton a few pages back, but some guys here had analytics on Laughton that has given me some pause on that idea. Then I'd look to upgrade RHD at this deadline. Pionk's an absolute baller out there, but I think he will be a shell of himself in 3-4 years. I'd keep him around for the run to the Cup though. You might get Pionk to bite on a slight raise which would put him at around $6 M, but I think it would have to be at least 5 years but probably 6.
You might be right, but I see Chevy and Pionk's camp coming to a number they both like. I'm guessing a little less on the AAV with a trade off on a little more term.Pionk's numbers matchup to guys like Hanifin at 7.35 , Montour at 7.15, and considerably better than guys in bottom end of the 6s like Brodin, Pulock or Severson.
