Thank you for telling me what I inferred.
I thought you told me.

Is this the argument clinic?I thought you told me.
Is this the argument clinic?
I imagine it doesn’t actually bother you that much and I’m the one making a big deal about it here, but are you actually annoyed at that second quote? To me, it seems like he is saying he feels compelled to be aggressively win now, more than he might otherwise.“Can you make one move? Can you make two moves? Do you want to make one big move, do you want to make two other moves? And again, who’s out there."
Textbook Chevyquote.
Also:
“It’s a group that you want to win so badly for. I feel indebted to them for what they’ve given the organization, the community. I feel that it’s my obligation to try to help them achieve their goals of trying to win the Cup."
Uh...*their goals*? What's your f***ing goal, Chevy?? It sounds like he would otherwise be indifferent on helping these guys win the Cup but they've worked hard and now they've convinced him to give it a shot...lol
Pretty sure he's just saying that the Cup win would belong to the team and not to him, since they are the ones who actually play the games. You know, being humble and downplaying his role.I imagine it doesn’t actually bother you that much and I’m the one making a big deal about it here, but are you actually annoyed at that second quote? To me, it seems like he is saying he feels compelled to be aggressively win now, more than he might otherwise.
It sounds bad, but I'm inclined to just chalk it up to Chevy's bafflegab. He's not saying what he's saying...he never is!I imagine it doesn’t actually bother you that much and I’m the one making a big deal about it here, but are you actually annoyed at that second quote? 1000% but the 4nations coming up could make this easier to overcome with the 2 week breakLowry out week to week with UBI. Gotta put some heightened emphasis on getting another C via TDL.
I love the idea of Jonathan Toews coming back and cleaning clocks on the faceoffs, but he's been out for so long does it just come back? Is it knowing tendencies? First thing is conditioning. Then it's re-entering a faster league than you left, and being fast enough to keep up.It be remarkable if Toews can contribute.
He’s old and hasn’t played competitively for few years. Those Stanley Cup rings were more than a decade ago
Maybe bring him in to win those face offs and teach the boys how to compete in the playoffs?
more of an off-season deal i think. do you think Perfetti has higher upside than Cozens?Perfetti straight up? Buffalo gets a former 10th overall pick, a year younger, cheaper, scoring at the same rate, maybe needs a change of scenery. Jets get a former 7th overall pick, 1 year older, way more expensive, plays C, maybe needs a change of scenery.
yes it can hurt. hurt a lotSigning toews would be wild off-ice
On-ice, not sure if he has anything left but can't hurt
His last game was April 13, 2022, so it's been just under 2 years (20 months) & finished the season with 15G & 16A in 53 games, scoring at 0.58/GP. On this years edition of the Jets he'd be 5th in scoring. He also spent his last few seasons playing through injury & missed all of February & March in his final season. If Toews was able to make a comeback i wonder if he would be enough to create a good second line. He hasn't played in almost 2 years.
See above. Although on the decline, his offensive numbers were still better than over 2/3rd of the league. 500 forwards played 50 games or more that year. Towes' 0.58/GP ranked 150 of 498.I can't imagine Toews being any good at this point considering age and time away from the league, was already on the decline before stepping away
I think it's a fair point that at 36 he could easily be washed up.No kidding a hard NO on this D Toews talk nonsense! We already had a useless miserable 36 year old big wheel!
