Let Chibs and Lambo play hockey in the AHL...Toninato can sit in the PB.
I missed it, who got recalled?he cleared so it doesn't matter but they already called up a worse player then poolparty over those 2 anyways
toninatoI missed it, who got recalled?
And Fleury placed on IR. Week to week. Apples will be there next by the sounds of it.toninato
or this guy?
or this guy?
Zib has been pretty bad this season not sure why the jets would want any part of that.Sounds like Zibanejad would consider waiving his NTC to facilitate a deal out of NYR to the 'right environment'. Well Winnipeg seems to be a place players like once they get here.
More major moves coming in New York? — The Fourth Period
The Rangers continue to explore their options and GM Chris Drury is contemplating more big changes.www.thefourthperiod.com
Wonder if Zibanejad would waive for Winnipeg, and the Jets consider making a move like that? They would have to move out a contract (say Iafallo) and have NYR retain about $1M to make the cap work. In following years, with the cap going up, they could make his contract work even with increases to Vilardi ($7.5M), Ehlers ($8M), Connor ($9.5M), Perfetti ($6M) and Samberg ($4.5M).
Would Iafallo, Lambert and 2025 1st get you Zibanejad? Who says no?
Frees up cap space for Rangers to go in another direction, while Jets get a 1a/1b C situation for the next 5+ yrs.
Connor/Scheifele/Vilardi
Perfetti/Zibanejad/Ehlers
Nino/Lowry/Appleton
Barron/Names/Kupari
Extra: Gus
Morrissey/DeMelo
Samberg/Pionk
Stanley/Miller
Extra: Fleury/Coghlan
Helle
Comrie
The old, if he is in a different situation, with better line mates, would his play return to previous levels? Can he reach ppg levels in a system more suited to his style of play?Zib has been pretty bad this season not sure why the jets would want any part of that.
Everything is worth exploring for the right price. The old, if he is in a different situation, with better line mates, would his play return to previous levels? Can he reach ppg levels in a system more suited to his style of play?
Not sure if that would happen. There’s always risk involved in a trade.
Trust in the Jets pro scouts to have a book on all these players who become available, and if they say stay away from Zib then I’m with ya.
As a fan of Jets 1.0 and 2.0 I would say that offer gets a very quick "No thank you" and a "click" from GM B Armstrong.A package of McBain and Maatta is enticing. I don’t see why UHC trades McBain, but I’d offer up a package including Barlow and Heinola to get it done.
Let’s face it, Ville will need a change of scenery to try and reach his potential.
Someone mentioned Chytil earlier. I think he is exactly who the Jets should be zeroing in on, 2 more years after this one and a very friendly cap number. Probably costs us something significant but I think he could really break out here
Perfetti plays a game similar to Chytil. It remains to be seen if Perfetti can move to C full time, but I like his game. A big, fast forward to play with him and Ehlers might be a good option if a bona fide 2C isn't an option.I think he could break out anywhere. He was a guy I wanted years ago. I still think he survives the tank this year. You think the Rangers would want a player for him but you never know. I'm hedging bets that Hagens goes to the Rags in the draft to be reunited with Gabe Perreault, and they clean house with UFAs and probably Kreider at the deadline. Come back contenders by next season, or the following.
I want to see Perfetti play center before Chevy invests long term or short term in the next 2C.
He's a lot more mature than the fresh faced kid who broke in.
I think it's 2 years max before Yager becomes the Bryan Little 2C. Maybe Perfetti moves from 2C to 1C by then as Scheif loses a step. Maybe it's not in his potential but this home stand seems like a great time to experiment with some injuries.

I wouldn't pay that for Zib now. That's a price 3 years ago for him and doesn't include what's happening now. Remove Lambert and replace with either Barlow or Lucious and I'd do itSounds like Zibanejad would consider waiving his NTC to facilitate a deal out of NYR to the 'right environment'. He will fetch a boatload. Other than this season he's been a PPG center for 6 years (2018-19 to 2023-2024). He would make our top 6 elite and we'd be a cup favorite instantly. I'd give up more than that for him.I wouldn't pay that for Zib now. That's a price 3 years ago for him and doesn't include what's happening now. He hasn't been good this season, he is expensive for future years, and he is old. I am not in favor of going all in on any season and mortgaging a large part of our future. Trading for him would mean saying goodbye to Ehlers. He will fetch a boatload. Other than this season he's been a PPG center for 6 years (2018-19 to 2023-2024). 31 is hardly old. Still in his prime. May not have to let Ehlers walk with the cap going up. Might be doable. Not a chance he comes here though. He hasn't been good this season, he is expensive for future years, and he is old. I understand you point but how many of those have we already wasted assets on in the past at the TDL over the yearsI'd rather look for a possible reclamation project than pay huge assets on a big name like Zib or EP
Maybe it's the frugal Winnipegger in me looking for a deal lol
It really depends all on Ehlers. Any guaranteed sure thing is taking Ehler's money. Ehlers does most of what we would want out of a 2c but a wing they just need to find players to build around him.I'd rather look for a possible reclamation project than pay huge assets on a big name like Zib or EP
