2024/25 Trade Rumours, Speculation etc Thread

Guys what jersey do I get? I have a Burmistrov jersey from 2012 which, obviously, aged like milk. I have a Laine jersey from 2018, which aged slightly better but ultimately not well either.

My favourite Jets are Samberg, Scheifele, Ehlers, Perfetti and Vilardi. WHO IS STAYING LONG TERM BESIDES SCHEIFELE?

I'd think Samberg would be a good jersey to have.
I own 2 Ehlers jerseys and I'm not sure he will be here next season.

I also am trying to buy it locally without having to order it online, which seems to be limiting the options. My main choice is a Samberg alternate, but I don't know if I'm gonna find that. Does Jets Gear have every player, usually?

Please, please get Stanley (with your track record, you'd be doing the team a favour).

:naughty:

I don't see Barron as a 2C when he is losing 4C matchups to Sam Steel.

I think the Jets bring back Schenn, Haydn Fleury re-signs, Appleton re-signs, and Ehlers walks, replaced by whoever plays better between Chibrikov and Iafallo. I'd like to see Kupari come back but his head might be damaged. With at least 5 centers I'd keep JAD as 13, and send Gustafsson to the Moose, have him mentor Wagner.
Thay sounds like a horrible lineup

I think you can basically come back with the same lineup, but with Chibrakov and Yager in the bottom six. That's assuming Ehlers is willing to stay which I'm not sure. I imagine Samberg and Vilardi both sign for 6-7 per.

Yager will need at least one year in the AHL to fill out. Maybe two

Yea I don't know with him. I'm sure he'll spend some time in the AHL but I don't think his ceiling is very high, but his floor is high and I think he'll be a decent bottom six option sooner than later. I don't know if he'll get farther than that though.

Anyone want Roslovic for 2nd line centre next season?
Don't think he'd have an interest in returning to Winnipeg. He's decent, but would probably cost too much as a UFA unless the Jets don't re-sign Ehlers.

I don't really think he's any better then what we already have. He's been a 30 to 40 point guy for a while now. Not aby different than Namestnikov. He also doesn't have the same type of d game that Namestnikov has.

If we let ehlers walk I'm going to be so pissed. Our powerplay is screwed without him. Just pay him, theres so many teams just waiting for the chance to throw money at him. I feel like there's a good chance Vilardi is gonna want too much and he's proven to be kind of expendable now. Pay Nik, hes earned it

Screwed is an exagaration. The pp was fine with Perfetti in his spot. It might be a downgrade, but, hardly screwed.

Ehlers gives the Jets offense on whichever line he's slotted, and they've never had as good a PP as this year's, with Ehlers a key cog. They will be much easier to defend against at 5v5 and on the PP without Ehlers. It's unlikely that any of their F prospects become as good as Ehlers, and certainly not within the next few seasons.

If ehlers wants to be here, Chevy will sign him to a fair contract (as he always does)

In other words, it's not about "letting him walk"... it's about whether or not he wants to. And if he does, there's nothing we can do about it

Just me playing armchair GM but I'd offer 8.75x7. I think that's what he would get on the open market, although there's a few teams desperate to offer more. Who wants to go from the presidents trophy winning team to being in the middle of a rebuild? So we got that going for us. After losing Nik and Vilardi for extended periods of time to me its clear which one id pick out of them. 25 yr old with chronic back problems and an ameican girlfriend who might want to live a bit closer to home. Just lots of questions, I do like him as a player but with Iafallo able to fill that void too.. only if the moneys right.

i think he comes in a below Scheifele, 8-8.25m. Their 1st contracts was 6.125m and 6m. i can't see him touching 9m on the open market tbh, and i think most contract projection sources have him in the mid-8 range.

I mean the pp and second line were producing with Perfetti.

On another front I would be very careful with the contract extended to Vilardi, not withstanding injury concerns he really is a hot and cold player.
I am worried about his speed. He's got great hands, but without great wheels he seems like a potential liability in the defensive end. Do you think Cole Perfetti could ever replace him on the top line? And let the younger guys sift out 2nd line roles?

I don't think it's possible but a Vilardi for Mason Mc Tavish trade would strengthen the Jets up the middle.
