They probably think he fits better as a replacement for Dellandrea than Graf at this point which is fair enough.Graf has looked better on the Cuda IMO but Cardwell did have that monster game to close out Henderson so I understand rewarding him.
More than that, Cardwell has a season of fine play under his belt.Graf has looked better on the Cuda IMO but Cardwell did have that monster game to close out Henderson so I understand rewarding him.
How has Furlong looked? I used to coach him as a kid.

I think Cardwell is the more natural replacement for bottom 6 Dellandrea, even if his ceiling isn't as high as Graf's. He's got the energy, speed, grind game.Graf has looked better on the Cuda IMO but Cardwell did have that monster game to close out Henderson so I understand rewarding him.
Also Cardwell already put in a full season with the Cuda so his tenure should force Graf to make it obvious he should be called up instead which as well as Graf has played it is not that obvious.I think Cardwell is the more natural replacement for bottom 6 Dellandrea, even if his ceiling isn't as high as Graf's. Hopefully he had more hair than Warsofsky at that point in time. Coaching can really take it out of you.You were coaching as a kid?
Potential bottom six forward - maybe 30 points in a third line+PK role at his peak.Just checked the Cuda stats. Didn't realize they had just one loss and that Collin Graf was the team's leading scorer. Watching him play for Quinnipiac I figured he was just a player putting up big numbers on weaker competition.
Is there NHL potential in his game?
Yes. He has a surprisingly good off-puck game and high work rate in addition to being a plus scorer at the AHL level. Long-term, he could be a very good third liner. Seems to have made some progress physically over the offseason.Just checked the Cuda stats. Didn't realize they had just one loss and that Collin Graf was the team's leading scorer.
