Guschin and G. Smith are scratched, Kostin and Grundstrom are in the lineup. Granlund taking 1C with Celebrini out and Kostin on LW with Will Smith and ZetterlundI will also now focus more on Smith. And I think Anaheim will focus more on Smith tonight too. Which hopefully opens up Goose to feast on Anaheim like he did in the preseason!!
this has a very classic old athlete retiring due to injury story arc vibe. old athlete gets injured before the season, thinking it's minor. finds out it's more serious than expected, then just never heals up enough to play again.
That would me with my new Celebrini jersey. Sucks! But we are going to enjoy the game no matter what! Go Sharks!I'm not worried. Bedard only played 68 games last season. This is a nothingburger in the grand scheme of things, but I feel bad for people who are going to games where he's going to be out and they really wanted to see him.
I used to live in DFW area and still am in the DFW Sharks fanclub, and although I'm not going to the game in Dallas in Tuesday, I feel for those who are.
I'd still wear Celebrini if I were you. That would me with my new Celebrini jersey. Sucks! But we are going to enjoy the game no matter what! Go Sharks!
Maybe I should wear my new Musty jersey?
go go 18 year old healing factor!Having read Sheng's article about it being a hip injury for Celebrini, and then watching the play again several times where he crashed into the boards (hip first) in the preseason, I'm pretty confident that he's just dealing with a hip pointer.
This would, in a way, be ideal, because a hip pointer is painful but should heal up in a few weeks, and I imagine it would only lead to other problems if he's playing and overcompensating. It's kind of incredible just how quick and nimble he looked on Thursday considering this.
That's so awesome to hear.
