No diagnosis. No estimated time out. (Yet)

Well that's was fun while it lasted. The sharks need to have more than just 1 future goalie. Right now in they only have Askarov. Both Romanov and Carrier are AHL goalies. Christian Kirsch and Yaroslav Korostelyov are light years from reaching the NHL they are only 18, 19 years old.

No team has multiple goaltending prospects who are both close to NHL ready and project to be NHL starters. That is an unreasonable expectation.

What are you talking about? Colorado and Detroit each has 2 outstanding goalies prospects.
Justus Annunen, 24 (Colorado Avalanche)
Ilya Nabokov, 21 (Colorado Avalanche)

Sebastian Cossa, 21 (Detroit Red Wings)
Trey Augustine, 19 (Detroit Red Wings)

So 2/32, and anyway I personally believe Augustine is a bit overrated.

It's not normal to have lots of excellent G prospects in the pipe, and Askarov is still global #1 anyway. Hopefully his career doesnt' get derailed by injuries but no need to worry about that just yet.

I'd say it's a good problem to have, but if you have two good, nearly-ready goalie prospects, you now have to find playing time for both of them, as well as a veteran in case one of them fails. That's difficult and complicated.

Annunen was traded to Nashville for Scott Wedgwood. I don't think he's a legitimate future starting goaltender prospect either (and apparently neither did Colorado).

One out of 32 teams is not a large sample, the actual quality of those prospects is subject to opinion, and Augustine is not close to NHL ready - he probably needs 2-3 years minimum.
