GDT: 2024-25 season game 74 LA Kings vs Winnipeg Jets @7:30pm 4/1/25

Swept the best team in the league. LOL. Great team effort tonight. Kuemper is the team MVP this year he's been outstanding all year long. I've never been impressed with the Jets. Said this last time they played; they are a one-line team and if you shut them down you have a good chance of winning. Yes, they were missing Gabe but any team that plays them in the first round can win a seven-game series. Good win, now onto the disappointment on the road Thursday.

Well that's just it, isn't it. Both the Avalanche and the Oilers 100% believe they can trash the Kings when the moments get big. They have a psychological advantage. The Kings have yet to find a way to exploit overconfidence.

We need guys like Byfeild, Moore, Fiala, Foegele feeling like they can make big plays in big moments against the best teams.
With the first line clicking on all cyclinders the Kings/Hiller has to get Fiala,Moore,Foegele,Byfield going and that may take some juggling to do that...

Good win. They dont need to change their game vs teams like Edmonton and Colorado just come to play your game like tonight. Its like they went into that Avalanche game the other day thinking they are inferior but really they can hang with any team.
Kings have to find an answer for MacKinnon and Makar so far meh...

Seems like the Kings can handle anything in the league except the true superstar duos

Mackinnon-makar and McDavid-draisaitl make mincemeat of us because we can’t defend them to death and don’t outscore them and the only player that can physically match them is Byfield, no dmen can.

You know

I’m just going to pretend it was Vilardi Iafallo Kupari and Durzi for Kuemper and not that stupid little thing that happened in between
Don't miss Iafallo Kupari at all, better cheaper guys took their place. Vilardi, Durzi hurt for sure. We have no one on the 2nd unit who can generate anything since Durzi was traded and our pp has suffered . Clarke in time yes, but for now they miss Durzi's offense. Gabe, well... not much to say, he'd be crushing it [injuries aside] on the top line.

Hard to imagine this Winnipeg team getting passed the 1st or 2nd round in the playoffs.
I don't know, this was a tough game that required some pretty special plays to get on the board. Winnipeg plays much tighter and more focused than the offensive top-heavy powerhouse they have been in recent years - but they would no doubt like St Louis to stay hot so they can get a softer touch in Minnesota.

The Kings, Winnipeg and St Louis getting to the Conference semis seems like a good bet to me at the moment. I favor Dallas over Colorado, but that is going to be one hell of a series.

Most mis-used Kings player of all time. He'd be on the top line if he was still a King. Kupari is a first round bust unfortunately although I liked the kid he just never panned out.

They do have the best record in the league against good teams. But they just seem like a team that you can lock down. They feel like a team that already peaked for the season.

Blues will likely be getting Vegas in round one...

Kings don’t have the defensive prowess outside of Gavrikov to really shut down top talent which has always been how we get absolutely exposed in the playoffs. Good team defense doesn’t mean anything against super stars.

Good win tho.

lol, Durzi was an absolute whipping boy on this board.

I think he would have turned out well if it wasn't for that knee injury during the WJC.
Kupari was a case point that the Kings rushed their youngsters and then smart guy had them all competing in Onatario against each other for ice time...Kupari should have been left in Finland for another 3-4 seasons to play and tonne there and gain confidence...here he like you said he got hurt and from then on it was 1 step forward 2 back...not what you want from a 1st Rounder

If the Kings can get the 2nd and 3rd lines rolling cause our 1st line is scorching, sizzling, white hot and of course Kuemper has to play lights out unlike allholes Talbot

They are either rushing the kids or overcooking them. Hilarious.

Nuance.

The argument with some of the Scandinavian players is that they were rushed to North America. Whether you agree or not, it’s not an unreasonable thought and a discussion point. Especially considering some of them were then slow cook cooked in the AHL. It’s questionable because it didn’t seem to help much development wise and also meant the ELC’s for some ended sooner. Bjornfot is the one who was handled particularly strangely andif he was the only one you could argue that it was circumstantial, but it is part of a wider picture of disjointed development decisions.
