Finally some luck goes our way in a game, man the Isles were cursed the whole time. It's obvious the refs called everything against the Kings after those 2 disallowed goals to try and get the Isles back in it. Good thing they're absolutely abysmal on the PP. What a game by Gavrikov and Kuemper.

What’s the record when Trevor sits?

4 th line with bite, boom, and skill.
They are 11-2-2 when Lewis doesn't play.

That is 73% of the time this season the Kings win when Lewis doesn't play. They have gotten 80% of possible points when Lewis is out. 24 of 30.

Edit: When he plays the Kings only get 55% of possible points. 53 of 96.

Edit #2: these stats are insane. So the Kings have a 73% chance to win the game without Lewis playing. Compared to a 48% chance when he does play.

It was a weird game overall.

Multiple goals called off in one period.
9 PP's but no PP goals, but there was 2 short handed goals.
8-to-1 PP advantage for the losing team.
Doughty goal. (longest goal ever?)
Goal on a broken stick.

Just a bit of an odd night.

I'm liking the way the bottom 6 looks.

Moore-Danault-Foegle
Turcotte-Helenius-Jeannot

That group has potential.

The Kings bottom six is a huge strength now. Turcotte's role has made him go from a liability on the 1st line to a big strength on the 4th. That is an ideal 4th line, they have size, toughness and tenacity. Helenius is just a better player than Lewis and Thomas.

Jeannot has looked a lot better these last few games playing beside Helenius and Turcotte. He has a guy that can cover his 6 with some size and skill and another that can play with skill and pace. Each guy brings out a different side of him.

Blake spent heavy to aquire him. CapWages predicts he gets signed for just under 2 mil a year. Even if he hasn’t hit the score sheet or fought a ton this year I still like the idea off having a guy that can take in the heavyweights and others in that 4th line.

He has enough skill to contribute when not fighting and takes the body hard.

I hope he gets re-signed. I also see Lee getting the call next year as he and Helenius gel so well. That would be one large line.

Lee with Helenius was an underrated 4th line with crazy size and decent pace. They were our 4th when we went on our winning streak before Lewis returned and shitted up everything. Having Kuzmenko on the 1st line slots Turcotte down in a perfect spot where he'll be able to expose weaker opponents.

Nice to see Byfield gain confidence in his shot, he needs to use it more often.

Kuzmenko is already getting the Kovalchuk treatment. He made a couple of standout turnovers and only got two shifts in the 3rd period. He's going to be as memorable as Anson Carter and Cliff Ronning in the near future.

Kuemper completely bailed out the PK unit on numerous occasions. Have to imagine they'll be leaning on him heavily, because Rittich should barely see the net for the rest of the season.

Yep, having 4 penalties in the 3rd, 8 minutes....didn't have anything to do with it....not at all.

Let's ignore game script for idiotic narrative every time.

Kuzmenko also had two turnovers that directly led to counter-attacks, but I guess you'd have to be an uneducated asshole who has his head buried far up his ass to not notice that.

It was an interesting game last night. Technically they went 8 for 8 on the PK, but technically they didn't. Gave up 2 goals on a league worst powerplay that ended up being disallowed. 1st goal I sided with the attacking player, not sure what you want him to do there when he's getting a scoring opportunity. 2nd goal should be disallowed if you thought the 1st one was illegal.

All 3 goals that we scored we're great, love seeing Byfield getting more and more confident in those shooting areas. I felt bad for the Islanders player when his stick broke, but then saw that it was DeAngelo and then I didn't feel bad anymore.

He played pretty f***ing terrible last night, tbh.

If he can clean up the bonehead plays at the blue lines, I think the line can absorb the rest of his deficiencies.

Kopitar shouldn’t be the matchup center any longer anyways, so hopefully Hiller can find a way to hide that line from the more dangerous lines.

We're gradually seeing his ice time dwindle, which was expected. The shine will wear off quickly if your only contribution is at one end of the ice. It was a decent debut creating scoring chances, but I question if he'll be a necessary piece in playoff contests.

The fourth liners saw more ice time in the third period, and for good reason. They're not throwing errant passes through the middle of the ice to easily be picked off.

The one good thing with Kuzmenko in is that the other lines are balanced, and Trevor Lewis sits out, but if his miscues continue, I fear we'll soon see the return of Lewis.
