Finally some luck goes our way in a game, man the Isles were cursed the whole time. It's obvious the refs called everything against the Kings after those 2 disallowed goals to try and get the Isles back in it. Good thing they're absolutely abysmal on the PP. What a game by Gavrikov and Kuemper.

What’s the record when Trevor sits?

4 th line with bite, boom, and skill.
They are 11-2-2 when Lewis doesn't play.

That is 73% of the time this season the Kings win when Lewis doesn't play. They have gotten 80% of possible points when Lewis is out. 24 of 30.

Edit: When he plays the Kings only get 55% of possible points. 53 of 96.

Edit #2: these stats are insane. So the Kings have a 73% chance to win the game without Lewis playing. Compared to a 48% chance when he does play.

It was a weird game overall.

Multiple goals called off in one period.
9 PP's but no PP goals, but there was 2 short handed goals.
8-to-1 PP advantage for the losing team.
Doughty goal. (longest goal ever?)
Goal on a broken stick.

Just a bit of an odd night.

That was a goaltending win, Kuemper is making a case for being Blake's best move as GM.

This has to be one of the most win/win trades in recent memory in the NHL. PLD has been a dominant two-way center for the Caps, and Kuemper has been one of the best goalies in the league.

I'm liking the way the bottom 6 looks.

Moore-Danault-Foegle
Turcotte-Helenius-Jeannot

That group has potential.

The Kings bottom six is a huge strength now. Turcotte's role has made him go from a liability on the 1st line to a big strength on the 4th. That is an ideal 4th line, they have size, toughness and tenacity. Helenius is just a better player than Lewis and Thomas.

It’s a breath of fresh air to see a Kings 4th line have a little bit of grit to it.

All three of those guys relentlessly finish checks, just like a good 4th line should do.
